Great ending to this arc! Though I would gladly take MORE ^_^

Anyway it felt like it dragged on a bit in places, and some stuff initially felt off to me but ended up making sense in the end and I did actually learn from it, even when I didn't want to. I also wish that i'd re-read the entire series but...time..and stuff. I think that would've helped. Though I think I will do that at some point and that now, knowing what I know, it'd be even better :)

The characters, the romance, the art, the cheesy-ness and jokes, the lessons, ALL OF IT.

I can't wait for Mercy!! Dang it, now i'm hooked!

Sunstone, Vol. 5 brings to a close the first arc of this comic, picking up from the cliffhanger ending of Sunstone, Vol. 4. It's been an absolute joy re-reading Lisa's and Ally's relationship, and Stjepan Šejić satisfyingly resolves their story whilst continuing to sow the seeds for the arcs of secondary characters. Although the ending is inevitable (since we've previously glimpsed it) it's still enjoyable following the journey that leads us there.

Šejić has created two enduringly delightful lead characters, and his artwork remains consistently superb. There's significantly less talk about BDSM in this volume, but to be honest by this point I didn't really find myself particularly missing it. This volume also thankfully see's the return of Šejić's notes at the end, containing a little insight into how we got here, and a little tease as to what's to come. It looks like we're still a long way out from seeing this comic end, and I am very happy about that.

You know how romcoms always have some sort of theme? They're chefs that fall in love this time! Or this time it's tennis players! Or she can go back in time sometimes! I think this book would be more easily approachable for people if they knew this is, at heart, a romance. It just happens that they like BDSM.

The emotions really kicked up in Ally and Lisa's concluding story. They've come a long way when it came to their feelings and getting past fears if being in a committed and loving relationship.

Their story wrapped up perfectly!

What a fucking rollercoaster coaster, damn.

But what a perfect ending for Lisa and Ally.

That last story though—
Made me realise that i kind of have the same problems as Lisa :/
