Fascinating. I knew it was a famous book before I started it, but I didn't know why until I started researching it after I finished it. If Wikipedia can be trusted, it took Truman Capote six years of research and thousands of interviews before he published this (apparently he initially went down to Holcomb with Harper Lee?).
I had also just watched Citizen X the night before reading the last half of this book, and the timing was rather uncanny, as I was able to draw comparisons between the criminal investigation/justice process across two different countries/continents, as well as significantly different decades (Citizen X taking place in Russia in the late 70s to early 90s, and the Clutter murders taking place in the mid west United States in the late 50s to mid 60s).
And, on a purely personal level, having been a digital court reporter for multiple criminal court trials over the last few years (including parts of two murder trials), I was fascinated to read about what happens after a murder trial leaves the local jurisdiction in terms of the appeals process, etc.
Definitely worth reading no matter what your profession is, though.

Part of my English study. Not the biggest fan of Capote’s writing, and the text was too small for the page size. Nevertheless, a morbid yet entertaining read.

Amazing. Love the way this is written. Can't believe it took me 57 years to read this.

Absolutely incredible. Reads like a piece of fiction which only makes the crime itself all the more shocking.
DNF; I may come back to this one in the future but it’s just too dark for me right now. I don’t think true crime style books are my cup of tea.
