I'm a firm believer that there are certain books that you need to be in the right frame of mind to read. My love of Truman Capote did not erase the idea that while working two jobs in the middle of a pandemic, may not have been the best time for me to read this book. My next selection will be lighter and easier. I'll save the heavier and headier titles for summer break and long weekends.
Second time around which easier and more absorbing. Still hard to get through but I was left appreciating the eloquent writing style, research, and ground-breaking birth of a genre.

Well written, great language, characters are well developed - definitely round, notably due to Capote's attachment to the killers developed during their incarceration.

This book is good but It wasn’t for me. I probably would like it a lot more once I’m older but at this moment I don’t. It was very hard to understand especially with the back and forth with the perspectives. I didn’t like the consent rants that the book went into. The only part I liked was when Dick and Perry went on trial and that’s about it.
