I really enjoyed this book, definitely was slow on the uptake but got into it quickly.

I think River and Jess’s interactions were cute and funny and of course River and Juno’s were adorable. I’m glad there was no Alec coming back into the picture.

I liked the callback of
Jess feeling like a mess and a bad mom at the beginning to Jess realizing she had her village with her and having River there supporting them both

I do think there were some plot points that just felt skipped or some little details that felt like something to infer but weren’t explicitly stated and felt like a weird jump. I also almost feel like some of the events were unnecessary (why even have that confrontation with the mom in the parking lot?)

I’m glad Jess put River in his place when he disappeared for eight days, his apology also kind of sucked. I think he still didn’t really understand and then Jess started feeling bad when she shouldn’t have. Also fuck her mom.

Overall really cute and I liked how nerdy they were.

I really liked this! The characters have depth and the concept is very entertaining. The writing is really good, just as I was expecting after reading Love and Other Words by the same authors. And I love Juno so much pls protect that kid

This is a pretty great romance, but I kept feeling like something was missing from it in comparison to other romances I enjoyed from this year. I didn't find myself as connected to the characters, and wasn't super invested in the plot until I was 70% of the way into the book. While it wasn't my personal favorite, it was still a fun read and was super cute! I recommend it to fans of The Love Hypothesis!
