I was very surprised by how much I loved this book. The only other book I've read by the authors was The Unhoneymooners and although I liked it, I didn't love it so I expected something similar with The Soulmate Equation and boy was I wrong.

The book itself is super cute, and about 3 introductionary chapters in the story takes off. There is strong character development, plus the characters are both funny and loveable. I don't enjoy books with kids in them but Juno (Jess's kid) is so cute and funny too, she fit the story perfectly. The writing was enjoyable too so it was a quick read.

It took me a second to finish the book because by the end of it, i found myself savouring the chapters.

</My only criticism is that the authors get the main characters to forgive the love interest a little too quickly but maybe that's me being petty because in this book, the quick make up made sense>

I enjoyed this book and it honestly suprised me to be honest.
A dating site that uses dna and it’s markers to give you matches with diamond matches being 90% and above on a perfect match.

Somewhat enemies to lovers.
Somewhat moody sunshine
Definitely doubtful to head over heels energy and I loved it.

It had drama of its own throughout.  It had some spice for those who like that. But it also incorporated several passionate family dynamics and that was honestly really heartwarming.

So far this is my favorite of the three Christina Lauren books I've read; the concept was so interesting! I will say, at first it was hard to get past the slightly dystopian idea of DNA being able to tell you who you'd match with romantically/sexually, but as the book went on it felt less odd. While I loved the whole thing, the epilogue that's in the paperback version nearly brought me to tears, it was so lovely and sweet and adorable.

This book was fun, some of the science while technically correct was a little cheesy, but as a data scientist and stats nerd I felt very validated by some of Jess’ dialogue. Super fun to me as a data nerd to read her discussions of data and p values and significance etc. I love a good nerd romance, makes me feel seen. And enemies to lovers fake dating! What more could a girl want :) I wouldn’t say it was my favorite of the romances I have read recently, but I have read a lot so it would be hard to accomplish that. Overall a fun read, June is adorable, River is wonderful. I loved the epilogue, probably my favorite romance epilogue I have read recently.

A cute, nerdy, fast-paced romance with lovely characters. I feel like the supporting characters could have been utilised better. I also would have liked to know more about River, maybe even get a glimpse into his head. It definitely wouldn't hurt if this novel was a little longer but that's just a personal preference; I prefer slow-burn romance.

Recommended to: Fans or people trying out contemporary romance.

I always say this, but I LOVE THE CHRISTINA LAUREN DUO. Their minds just get me.

As January is often a month of wallowing and burdened reflection for me, I found that I read “The Soulmate Equation” at the perfect time. It brought out a little more of the optimist in me and lightened my mood considerably because it was just so sweet and fun to read!

The premise of this story was so innovative and intriguing, even from someone who doesn’t have a scientific background whatsoever. It was so interesting—two unlikely candidates genetically matched through a dating app!! It reminded me of my favorite episode of Black Mirror, “Hang the DJ”, and the probability of supposed perfect matches, natural attraction, and true love. It was really cool how the plot balanced all this statistical genetic data with the romance. It all worked really well together and kept me wanting to know more.

I loved the family relationships in this one, especially between the MC, Jess, and her daughter, Juno. Really, all of the main characters had my heart. Obviously Jess and the delectable MMC, River Peña (HOT NAME LIVES UP TO THE HYPE) were SO CUTE together. I identified with both of them and appreciated that the tension between them in the third act felt justified and true to their natures.

I JUST REALLY ADORED THIS ONE. (I only took off .25 of a point because I felt the ending was a tad abrupt but anyway) It was like “Be Sweet” by Japanese Breakfast in book form. You gotta love it.
