So bloody good. Embodies capitalism perfectly, universally applicable and quite frankly another book I would consider fundamental to altering world-view.

FULL CIRCLE ENDING. MEN ARE PIGS, PIGS ARE MEN. AHHHHH. THEY ARE BACK UNDER MEN'S POWER. This was so good! I loved how Orwell wrote about a real issue using a fictitious world. That last chapter was insane. Napoleon and the other pigs are...well 'pigs'. I especially enjoyed what each animal represented in Communist Russia in 1945. It was a great satire and I can definitely see myself in the future going back and reading this just to see what else I can pick out of the story.

I don't read very many classic books very often, so this was a little spontaneous for me. I loved the language that was used in the book, and the symbolism was just amazing. To me it was an easy read but the topic was actually very complex. I was so wrapped up in this book, and the ending left me shocked even though I saw it coming.

Now more than ever, should this book be in the hands of every single American. While George Orwell wrote this book as a commentary on the harms of the Russian Revolution and the rise of Stalinism in the 1940s, everything hits home today. The similarities are strikingly familiar.

From power corruption, to blind disobedience, to erasure of history, the government of Animal Farm eventually becomes indistinguishable from that of the humans to that of the pigs. Fascism is just as relevant today as it was during World War II.

“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others”. Animal Farm isn’t just about animals, it’s a warning about how ideas and dreams of a better future can become twisted and turned into a dangerous reign of deceit and corruption of power.
