Hoo boy, what a ride. A tidy (ish?) plot, with such authentically messy characters and problems. This is a well-concluded trilogy, and I thought the last chapter was just beautiful. I don't know that the worldbuilding she set up in Borderline could have supported any more books even if she'd wanted to write them, but the characters certainly could have. They've learned things, they've made progress, but they've still got a lot to deal with and that feels right and real.
I see on the author's website she's "retired from novel writing," and I certainly respect that. But if she ever starts another series, I would pick it up in a heartbeat.

The third book in the series builds on the strengths of the previous books, and offers a solid conclusion. There's some great character moments and good action here, and Baker consistently thwarts expectations and tropes to keep the reader interested. Highly recommended.

I really love this as guilt-free escapist urban fantasy.

There's something about adding larger themes of mental illness and suicide to the mix that makes me feel like I'm still being a productive human while reading it.

Also, there's fairies.

This was captivating, absolutely my favourite one of the series. It wasn't perfect - mostly because it feels like Baker doesn't like borderliners very much - and yet, I'm giving it five stars. Partly because all the DBT mentions make me think Baker has done DBT, which also has this undercurrent of not liking borderlines very much, so it makes sense. But mostly because I got so swept up in this book that it turned a bad day into a good one and that takes some powerful writing.

I love the characters (Caryl, my love!). I still love the world-building, and I think this one does a great job of wrapping up the story without it being too easy or too handwavy. I absolutely loved the final insight into Millie's character, in a way she'd never even consider herself, that was beautiful. I got very emotional over this one.

A satisfying conclusion to the series. I didn’t like it as much as the first two, but it’s still very good and so much happens. I’m still considering it. May add more later. Highly recommended the whole series.
