Delicious......finally some good fucking food. What a FUN ride--I tore through this in like four days. Intriguing, dense, a great meditation on how memories stay with people across time. GennaRose Nethercott PLEASE write a sequel to this. Regardless I will have to check out her other work !!!

I feel like the book did exactly what it intended to do, but nothing more.
I liked the relationships, and how it would turn from following the main characters to baba yaga telling the story of her life.
Other than that, I've read many books like this now. Same text, different font. I think I would've given it 4 stars if I wasn't a bit tired of it. Basically, I feel like it's "not you, it's me" kind of thing

I can't stop thinking about this book. I tell everyone I know about this book. It's about memory, and ancestral memory, and the memories that live in our bones. It's about survival. It's about death. It's about what it means to be haunted. It's whimsical and spooky and funny and devastating by turns. There are puppets? There's a haunted house and it will lie to you because the truth is so unbearably sad. There is a girl and a boy and neither of them know why they are the way they are.
