Super sweet Anastasia type romance. Loved it.
I completely and absolutely loved 95% of this book, and will never look at a life boat the same way again. I was, however, a bit shocked by the ending. I felt as though it was missing about 2 1/2 chapters at he end. Most of Cole's other books have had endings that truly showed the continuation of the story, the "ever after" part I suppose. But i felt like How to Find a Princess was just a bit too abrupt. That was quite a grand spectacle at the end, but I still have so many questions!

like, is Makeda the great grand-daughter of the former queen or not? Is Ibaranian inheritance going to follow the patrilineal or matrilineal lines? Are they both part of the aristocracy? Are they distant cousins!!!! Perhaps there will be a follow up with one of Bez's siblings after AK's storySpoiler
3.5 stars rounded up.
I love all of Cole's romances, but maybe love this one a little less than the others. I really loved both the characters, especially Makeda learning to say no and set more boundaries in place and figuring out what boundaries worked best for you. Coming from a long line of women who are incredibly stubborn yet also have problems saying no, it was great to see a character figuring this out. Bez was fun, and I loved her sense of loyalty to her family.
The pacing was a little off. The end was very abrupt, and I don't want a ton of wrap up in an ending, but it felt like it needed a little more. Maybe less time on the boat and then a little more time actually on the island.
Makeda's relationship with her mother felt very authentic for an adult child of an alcoholic and seeing that continued struggle, tension, and hurt added to her character development. I loved Grandmore, and Bez's reaction to the fluffy demon cat.
A solid addition to Cole's Royals series.

I have a tendency to shy away from royalty romance, but this premise intruiged me. I took a chance and picked it up, and even ignored that it was book 2 in a series. I quickly realised that the book was very charming, entertaining and hot, and that I basically could lean back and enjoy the ride. The main characters were interesting, flawed and lovable, and I love how they learned thwir "flaws" could be both good and bad.
The romance started out as an enemies-to-lovers trope that was unusually well written, with amusing banter as well as attraction. I loved how the story played with several well known romance tropes. We even got a fake relationship and the only-one-bed trope.
The ending was a bit abrubt for my taste, but apart from that, it was just a very entertaining read.

Bumped up from 3.75 stars. I really enjoyed 90% of this book- it had some wonderful world building, a nice savory slow burn, and fun references to the author's previous royals series.
However, the ending was extremely rushed, with several plot threads left unresolved. My guess is that the author ran out of time or pages and just had to tie things up. It is on the longer side for a romance novel already, but I was really engrossed in the story and wanted more. I would've liked at least an epilogue, or even ending on a cliffhanger with a sequel book to come. There is definitely enough story for a couple hundred more pages.
