Reads like fan-fiction, but like…good fan-fiction. Its nice to read scenes from Darcy’s perspective like him finding Lydia and Wickham and seeing Mr Bennet’s reaction to him asking for Elizabeth’s hand.

A fun read; light and entertaining for those who enjoy Pride and Prejudice. A good choice for those times when you want to read P&P but don't have the time or want something along the same lines but a little fresher. Well done in terms of explaining how Darcy came to love Elizabeth in the first place and why he did various things he did.

This is literally the first book I put on my goodreads "to read" list. I finally read it. I am sad I didn't read it sooner. It was such a fun read.

I am not a huge "Pride and Prejudice" fan. I enjoy the book and the Colin Firth movie. That is about as far as it goes. I don't often read "fan fiction", but I heard this was good and thought I would try. I could very much see the characters I have grown to love. It was interesting to see the (possible) other side of the story. It made me smile and there were times I couldn't put the book down.

The book is written pretty well, but the language is not quite Austen enough. Not a huge complaint. that is hard to do. But, how often can you use the word satirical in a book? In this one at least 20 times and that is, sadly, not an exaggeration. There are several other words that could have been used. It seemed too much.

Zeer leuk! En tof dat er ook wordt gesproken over de Darcy's na het huwelijk :D. Plus, die laatste zin is gewoon perfect :D.

The story was good, and enjoyable, although it didn't grab me as well as other books have done.

No thank you. I love Pride and Prejudice and I am never above reading a bit of chick-lit fluff, however I was not thrilled with this book at all.
Darcy's writing followed the skeleton of P&P and offered very little else. Many of the journal entries seemed forced. It was somewhat helpful to cite what the Bennet's were doing as a reference to approximatly where in the original text the entery was happening. As a reader I was thankful for this, but wished for a smoother way to integrate these plot points in.
There were a few wonderful moments where Amanda Grange took liberty to give Darcy real emotion. I understand wanting to stick true to Austen, but as a different author writing a different book (merely based on P&P) I expected some creativity. It felt more like Grange was imprisoned by the constraints of the original story than inspired by them.
I would read this book again only because of my fascination with the Pride and Prejudice, but I liken it to a glorified fan fiction (with less typos) one might find online.

UGH!

I've said it before and I will say it again. If there is anything P&P related - I will find it and read it. I don't care if it's amazing or complete shit. I will probably still end up reading it.

I was so freaking excited that I go Mr. Darcy's Diary because I just love that freaking character. Although not as much as my homegirl Elizabeth Bennet.

Now I'm kind of torn on how to write this review because even though I freaking love P&P and I might have a slight obsession with it. I didn't really like this book. I tried - I really did. But the writing was so boring and repetitive. Not even wine, food, or puppy snuggles could make this book more likable to me. I don't know - it could be due to a mood or sleepiness or SOMETHING but I just didn't really like it.

I will of course try to reread this again later this year maybe? Maybe in a couple of years. I feel like I owe it to my love for P&P and I should try to see if I could end up liking it later in life. I promise I will try to reread it guys - I just have no idea if my opinion would change..

I guess I'd just rather read the OG Pride and Prejudice than this..
