2.5 ⭐️ *sighhh* it had so much potential…

I don’t mind the characters and I’m still trying to wrap my head around who is what etc etc… but so far the dynamic is all over the shop and story feels a little, to put it nicely immature? Uhhh I don’t know but the story is just wishy washy and all choppy!?

Better academy

I don’t know about your kindle recommendations lately, but mine have been awash with Academy reads. Enjoy 1 and the algorithm decides that’s ALL you want. Fortunately, I took a chance on this one and came out a winner. A slow burn RH, it presents multiple POV throughout the narrative, teasing and hinting at what our FMC is while showcasing the inside of a college that is really more a prison for the sadly uncontrolled. It ebbs and rolls, following a few days before skipping ahead a few months, but it keeps a steady pace with the plot and drags these mismatched fools together. Fair warning, it ends on a cliffhanger.

Pros:
- World building it awesome.
- Who do you trust?
- Good use of multiple POV
- STILL don’t know what she is, not really.
- Phoenix is fantastic. So are the others.

Cons:
- Cliffhanger... but the next is already out, so....

Whoa!

This book was a great and easy read with some very steamy, sexy scenes. Couldn’t put it down. Definitely will continue the series.

Relationships were good, not a huge amount of plot but enough to keep you interested. I would’ve liked to have read more classroom scenes, the book was mostly focused on the relationships between Izara and the men. The men were all written well, I liked that they each had different and well defined personalities. There were a few things that I feel like not enough detail was given but those might come up in future books. I won’t continue the series but it was a solid afternoon read. I’d definitely say this is slow burn

I would have rated this higher if there was more consistency within the story. The weird inconsistencies made me drop my rating from 4 stars to 3 stars.
The heroine is really quite annoying. She was a complete hypocrite at times and ungrateful as hell. She had a holier-than-thou attitude that really turned me off. I liked the writing, but the story had a lot of lackings in my opinion.

I wasn’t sold at first, but I decided to stick out to see if the story would improve. God damnnnnnnn, I’m so happy I decided to continue reading. The end ruined me. I really don’t know what my thoughts are but I’m stressed and I love it

It's promising

The series is promising that's for sure. The mystery about Izzy, Saint's confinement, Suki's sister and the dram that is likely to unfold between Izzy and Phoenix is enough for me to continue on with the series.

I don't know what to make of the characters though. I don't like any of them but also don't really hate any of them.

For me this is a very middle of the road kind of book but because it is RH and first in the series, i'll give the next one ago.

Quick Info
Standalone/Cliffhanger?: Standalone
Part of a Series?: Yes
----------------------------------
Meeting the Characters
Izara
----------------------------------
What happens?
Izara is shoved and abandoned into the academy which is essentially a prison. She is training or rather trying to train what ever is hiding inside her. She is put in a dorm with just guys and develops a sort of friendship with each but also some sexual tension.
Final thoughts
Writing a review without spoiling this book is difficult, however you can see on the side this is tagged reverse harem so expect that. There is also some M/M action going on which btw was hot and very well done in my opinion and that doesn't float my boat usually.
I'm curious about what is inside her, I have my suspicions but not too sure what just yet. I thought the fact Saint is going to be hurt was sad, and I want to see how the author is going to save him or are we going to lose him?
This is a good first book in a series but it has some need for improvement, the POVs are a bit confusing, its not clear enough who is talking but that could be an editing for format problem. I did think it flicks a bit to often between the guys but that is kind of down to the amount of guys this involves. Having the POVs from them does help sort of, you get to see what they are thinking without it being spoilery but it doesn't make the flow of the book very easy to read.
Would I read again?: Yes
Would I read this author again?: Yes

I wasn't sure about this book but so many things kept drawing me in, little references that I really loved. It's a nice short read and I'm really excited to get started on the next book to find out what happens.

Reverse harem with sooo many tropes, I'm loving it, they all have something different and I can't wait to see how they end up!
