I find myself without much to say other than I really liked it. The familial relationships - mothers, daughters, sisters - were explored in wonderfully vivid fashion. It’s a vibrant, lively book written in bright, evocative language which made for an enjoyable and moving reading experience.

Good characters book. The jumping timeline was a bit confusing. I love EA’s writing but some elements fell flat. Inspired me to try salsa dancing??

This book hit home. A multigenerational latina story?
How could it not. Acevedo does it again. You know how sometimes an author writes a story and it slaps and your drawn in? And then sometimes a poet writes a novel and the language is so stunningly beautiful that you have to sort of allow yourself breaks to process everything? That's what @acevedowrites did here. It took me a minute to get through, but it's because it was so relatable. Highly recommend to everyone, but especially my Latinas with generational trauma lol
