I'm very new to poetry and I don't realy know what makes a poem or a poet good.
I know that most of these poems conveyed a powerful message or theme. And that they each held strong emotion. There was also great language and imagery used in some of them, I found alot of the poems quite thought provoking.
There were some poems that I just couldn't connect to and didnt enjoy as much, but that's bound to happen as not everybody shares the same view on the world or the same experiences.

I picked this up recently while looking for a different book, and I enjoyed it! I love finding new queer poets, and I definitely found some new-to-me people in this book, alongside poets that I know and love. As far as anthologies go, it isn’t the best — while there were a few wins, there were also a few duds. I would still recommend it because it’s quite short and will give you some good places to start learning more about queer poetry, but I wouldn’t say it’s a good entry point if you aren’t already a big fan of poetry.

Raccolta che mi ha accompagnata per tutta l’estate, e il bello di quelle con autorə diversə all’interno è che con la loro varietà, non finiscono neanche dopo la lettura❤️
Ho amato particolarmente la prefazione fatta dagli editori di questa raccolta, tre sezioni rispettivamente da lui, di lei e insieme, in cui prima raccontavano le loro storie di percorso questioning queer da giovani, le loro prime interazioni e coming out, la passione per la scrittura di poesie e curare le opere altrui, l’ispirazione data da persone come loro a farsi strada, la voglia quindi di raccogliere quante più voci queer possibili.
Con però la premessa che la completezza totale non esiste, come tutta l’esistenza queer non potrà mai essere raccontata in un solo libro e come il numero 100 sia stata una scelta convenzionale per poi essere divisa in categorie- che ho trovato anche molto intelligenti e particolari:
-Abbiamo infatti “Queer childhood” e “Queer adolescence” per le fasi della vita in cui quest’identità “sembrava ancora troppo lontana e fuori dalla propria lingua”, nella propria scoperta- poesie fatte di amore ma anche vergogna per sé stessi, insicurezze e pensieri interni frammentati❤️

I took my time with this collection and had a great time reading. There were some poems in here that really hit me. But, as is often the case with an anthology, there were also quite a few that I didn't connect with. I'm happy anthologies like this exist though and I'm proud and happy to have it on my shelves!

Some really good poems I wish I bookmarked. A solid amount of poems I didn't really connect with. It's an interesting collection bc some poems don't really feel queer unless you add that lens.

Pulling together 100 queer poems from across various times, identities and places sounds like a tall order, but this book does it beautifully, reminding me of some I already adore, and some entirely new ones.
It is also clear that a lot of love has gone into this collection, as they are very well chosen, and sit brilliantly next to each other.
