Gostei da premissa do livro desde a sinopse, e ao ler a sua primeira frase, a minha curiosidade aumentou ainda mais. Já havia lido outros livros do Gabo, e esse com toda certeza foi um dos que eu mais consegui me conectar, tanto com a história quanto com os personagens. Além de ser bem curtinho, a história é bastante envolvente e nos passa a sensação de estar acompanhando uma novela cheia de reviravoltas e vários núcleos. Esse com certeza é um livro que recomendo para quem quer começar a ler as obras desse autor, mas não quer começar pelos seus livros mais consagrados e longos.

It's a book of magic realism so expect the ending to be very astounding one that we don't usually expect. The plot is however well disclosed from the very beginning that Santiago Nasar is to die but still the interest never falters with how Márquez keeps the information be served before us piece by piece. The confusion with why Santiago Nasar has to die to realise that he is better off dead is a beautiful journey all together. Enjoy reading

J'avais adoré "Cent ans de solitude" et pourtant je n'avais jamais lu un autre G.G. Marquez. Malheureusement, cette "chronique" m'a plutôt laissé sur ma faim. Puisque tout est littéralement annoncé dès le début, qu'on sait qui va mourir et pourquoi, il ne reste que les détails et les digressions pour accrocher le lecteur. Certains diront aussi que le style seul de Marquez suffit, qu'il pourrait rédiger des listes d'épicerie sans que ce soit ennuyant. De mon côté, j'ai trouvé ça correct sans plus. Rien ne m'a franchement déplu, mais rien ne m'a spécialement marqué. Un livre que je prévois d'oublier assez vite.
