3.5 stars. Not quite the Spooktober reading I was wanting, but there was definitely a strong touch of magical realism and some melancholy coziness to enjoy. It reminded me strongly of Sarah Addison Allen’s work, in a good way.

Loved everything about this. Narrator, characters, style, plot.
Again, narrator had a good speed, which was helpful. Too slow ruins the experience, and if you speed it up, it can turn into jibberish and you tune out.
A few too many characters without a huge amount of relevance or necessity to the plot. Great atmosphere. A bit of the ending felt like drama for drama's sake, but it did also give small town vibes haha
It's message was a bit too obvious, but it did everything it intended to do well and I was entertained, so it's a winner for me!

One of those delightful stories that makes me want to move to a small coastal town and find myself. Absolutely magical ✨
