I googled for magical realism books. It was on a list. I can’t believe I’m saying this but not every speck of dust needs described. Every emotion doesn’t need to be told about. “Eyes like moss” was a good description but to go on describe the time and place the character as the moss was a little much.
I’m sure it’s a good book but it’s a descriptive sensory overload for me personally. Maybe this review will be what someone else needs to read to be inspired to read the book. I know I’ve read books because of a lower rated review and loved books.

I love the magical realism, and the humor in this book, I fell in love with the town and the people and the comfort the community made me feel… and Hannah and Norman…

I wouldn't say it was an amazing piece of literature, but I enjoyed the book. It was really sweet and I wish I could stay in the world the author created.
Delightful story about love and loss, of a small beach side town, accepting what makes us special, and maybe even a dash of magic.
This was a second chance romance, wrapped up in a small town love story, wrapped up in a story of grief, loss and new beginnings. All with a hint of of the mystical.
This was a charming, cozy book that felt like a warm hug and a cup of hot chocolate. It was heart-warming.
It was a perfect break from the fantasy I had been reading.
My one grievance was having to listen to the narrator say qua-bark so many times. It eventually made sense but it got quite irritating.
