I loved the duology! It was well-written, action-packed and fast-paced. The dynamic between Emika and Hideo was much, much better in the sequel (something that I was concerned about after reading Warcross). It was a perfect conclusion to Warcross.
Definitely not as addicting as Warcross was. I didn't feel the connection to the characters or story. Overall a let-down that I wanted more from.

That was confusing.
At the end, literally nothing made sense. It looked like she was going for, and the Neurolink shut down and everything got better, but then she didn't?? Like, it was just, the Neurolink is shutting down!! D: Wait jk it's not. And the worst part is is that the author note says that she is deeply proud of this book. This book was really, really bad.
It's only saved from one star because of its predecessor.

I loved the first book, I devoured it, and this one was a big disappointment. Emika was the biggest disappointment of this book : bland and lacked all the vibes that made her so likeable.
I don't even know which aspects of the book I should point out to back my frustration, the whole thing just didn't entertain me, I was just bored throughout it all.

I waited for this book for so long, that I devoured it in a couple of sittings! Marie Lu just produced another masterpiece and I absolutely loved it! Definitely re-rad material.

Me gustó mucho más que Warcross, todavía era predecible pero en esta ocasión Habian más relaciones con personajes secundarios, me contaron sus historias y sabía que Roshan me caería bien jajaj y hubo otro personaje que no espere que me cayera tan buen jeje.
Este libro continuó con los hecho casi de inmediato, había más tensión, acción y todo eso. Me explicaron varias cosas que quedaron pendientes del primer libro y hubo varios giros, pero lo que más me gustó fueron las cuestiones morales que se plantearon a raíz de la realidad virtual y otros detallitos que no puedo decir porque son spoilers jajjaj

Todo problema tiene una solución. Pero detrás de cada solución hay un nuevo problema al que enfrentarse, un nuevo desafío que aceptar. No te detienes después de resolver una cosa. Continúas, encuentras una nueva manera, un nuevo camino, intentas hacerlo mejor y crearlo mejor. Derribar una cosa no es la meta; hacerlo mejor, hacerlo bien sí lo es. O tal vez no haya una meta en sí. Logras algo y luego te mueves para conseguir lo siguiente. Sigues resolviendo un problema tras otro hasta que cambias el mundo.
Más que nada son frases que me gustaron y como son spoiler no puedo compartirlas en ningún otro lado jajajs en algunas hay pequeños comentarios hahs
«Esto es algo bueno», digo para mis adentros. Debería estar contenta, Hideo ha hecho lo correcto en cuanto al Mundo Oscuro. ¿No he pasado años persiguiendo gente aquí abajo? No es un buen lugar. Hay rincones del Mundo Oscuro tan perturbadores que deberían eliminarse para siempre, gente tan malvada y perversa que se merece pudrirse en la cárcel. Deberían tener miedo.
Pero… la idea de que una persona ejerza ese tipo de poder aquí abajo, de que introduzca la mano dentro de la cabeza de alguien y le obligue a abandonar este sitio…
—Los estudios del pasado han demostrado que existe una relación entre quitarle a la gente un objetivo en sus vidas y un mayor riesgo de muerte. Si no tienen por lo que esforzarse, si se manipulan sus motivaciones, aumentan los suicidios. —Se inclina hacia delante para mirar a Kenn a los ojos—. Es posible. Tenemos que investigarlo.
Hideo está fijando reuniones con varios líderes del mundo. El público no parece saber nada sobre el algoritmo —o tal vez estén dispuestos a no saberlo—, pero los presidentes y los diplomáticos sí conocen su existencia. La moralidad cambia según el país. Todos van a querer algo distinto de lo que quiere Hideo.
Se supone que el algoritmo es neutral, que está libre de las imperfecciones humanas, y es más eficiente y riguroso que la aplicación de la ley actual. Pero esa siempre ha sido la quimera de Hideo. Apenas han pasado un par de semanas desde que se lanzó el algoritmo y ya las incompetencias y marañas del comportamiento humano están complicándolo y corrompiéndolo. ¿Y si termina aceptando ciertos favores para ciertos países? ¿Directrices especiales? ¿Permisos exclusivos para los ricos o para figuras políticas? ¿Iría alguna vez por ese camino?
—Todos vamos a tomar la misma salida. —Me giro hacia Ro-shan, que está mirándome—. No eres una loba solitaria, Em. Si van a por ti, será mejor que ahorren algo de tiempo para ir también a por nosotros. Eres una Jinete Fénix. Para eso somos un equipo. ❤️
Yo no era más que un rezagado que tuvo un golpe de suerte porque Asher vio algo en mí. Me molestaba que Roshan fuera el que siempre se quedaba levantado hasta tarde para ayudarme. Y me enamoré de él por la misma razón.
De verdad, Tremaine me sorprendió me empezó a gustar como personaje y me encantó su relación con Roshan, como dos veces lloré con ellos

How does one even go on after finish this? I have this constant ache in my heart because of a certain part and I can't get over it. Marie Lu has done it again. She has taken my heart, given it the character it needed to love, then shattered all that was my heart with one mind-blowing crush. I thought she destroyed me with The Midnight Star, but no. She decided to do this to me AGAIN, yet this time it might be worse.
She has you wrapped around her finger with the first line of the story. You are hooked because of your attachment to the characters then she brings all this action that wasn't in Warcross, and you can't help but so engrossed with the story. I was so hungry for more, I simply couldn't stop turning the page! I devoured each word until the very end of the story. There was only one part where I had to put the book down because I really couldn't take the pain. My heart was quite literally breaking into pieces while tears were streaming down my face. Marie Lu shattered my heart.
Marie Lu's ability to make you think you know where the story is going then twist it around on you is fascinating. She pulls you in so many directions that you can't see what's coming next until it is right in front of you. I love her talent, but I hate the way she can rip my heart out and destroy me with just a few sentences.
There a couple of problems that I have with this story. The ending was completely disappointing and felt really rushed. We had this build up with amazing action and development then we are left with the aftermath in a few details. Not only that, but there was barely scenes in the story with Hideo and Emika! It just wasn't enough for me. It was, to say the least, unsatisfying after all that pain and heartache. I also deserved a proper epilogue!!!!! I really received breadcrumbs and that is so upsetting!
So, because of my disappointment and unsatisfying feeling from the ending, I can't give this a 5 star rating. I am torn between 3.5/4 stars, but because is was good and painful, and because of Sasuke Tanaka, it'll get a 4 star rating.

It is just a fun read. From start to finish, it just jumps straight in and gets onto the ride. The story is the type that makes you want to read more. It also is the type of YA novel that makes you want to read more from the author. The characters are well-written, and I like how the relationships are painted in shades of gray and not just "you're my bestfriend" or "you're the love of my life and I love you unconditionally no matter what you do."
