Thanks to HMH and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this title.

Everything in this book looks amazing. EVERYTHING. And because it's Dorie, I trust that it's going to work, and there's going to be the detail I need in a recipe to know it's going to come out perfect the first time. This is such a great collection of recipes, and everything you want in an all-purpose baking book is here - sweet and savory, standbys and new favorites.

I enjoyed some of Dorie Greenspan’s latest baking book “Baking with Dorie”. There are several apple recipes I am very excited to try, especially the ones that don’t include cinnamon because *GASP* my partner hates my beloved autumnal spice. However, this book could have been half the length. It took effort to find the recipes in her storytelling which I found off putting in the end. I didn’t need her biography when all I wanted was a scone recipe. She adds in extra steps that don’t need to be there, and it feels like they were added for a page count instead of quality recipe writing. I will be trying some of her recipes but this one will stay in my digital library instead of my well loved, real life cookbooks I use in my kitchen.

I received a Copy through NetGalley For review.

This is a fantastic baking book.
And for once it's got stuff you'd actually want to bake and eat.
Most of the recipes aren't crazy complicated. They really feel like things I'd like to bake and the time would yield something really worth it.

This one took me longer to comb through because there were so many good recipes. I can't wait to try many of them, they sound delicious. It's a through, comprehensive book with a wide array of baking form savory, breakfast to decadent and sweet.

Another classic from Dorie Greenspan! Beautiful photographs accompany the recipes. While the recipes may seem a bit intimidating when looking at the picture, Dorie explains each step well, and the result is worth it! Another wonderful cookbook from Dorie Greenspan for home cooks and bakers to add to their collections!

Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for the advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

There is a reason why Dorie Greenspan is a leader in the culinary world, and this newest book, Baking with Dorie, is another excellent example of her skill as a chef and cookbook writer. Accompanied by stunning photos, each recipe sounds more delicious than the last. What I most loved about this book is that each recipe has a "playing around" note of how the recipes can be adapted to taste. I also appreciated that there were recipes for sweet and savory items, some simple, some special occasion showstoppers. The recipes that I found most intriguing were an Apricot and Pistachio Olive Oil Cake, Blue Cheese Bites, and a Fig and Goat Cheese Tart - all three flavorful and splurge-worthy. While some of the recipes are simple, and all are clearly written, it seems as if this book is best for a more experienced baker, as the layperson may be intimidated by the number of ingredients or steps in some of the recipes. I look forward to spending some time in the kitchen with this book!
