A five star reading experience in a point five star book though. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much.

The schizophrenia/psychosis in this book is handled with about as much care as your bags on Delta Airlines. Corvina's schizophrenia is almost always romanticized in some way (usually in the "maybe she has these hallucinations because she's so witchy and intuitive" way) and Vad is constantly making remarks about being her madness or whatever. Neither Corvina nor her mother have any symptoms of schizophrenia other than hallucinations, presumably because either the author did no research or because the other schizophrenia symptoms aren't very cool and mysterious. All this while also demonizing schizophrenia -- whilebonez_x's review against another edition

Loved Corvina's character growth, and Vad was hot as hell ;) but I loved seeing the protective, sweet side too when it came to how much he truly cared for Corvina.

I actually really liked how parts of the mystery of the castle were left unresolved, especially the more supernatural elements. RuNyx left me wanting more, and the set-up at the very end with Corvina and Vad returning back to the castle hopefully indicates that we are getting a sequel!

The student-professor relationship was brought up in nearly every conversation: "But he's your teacher!" Or "I'm breaking the rules for you." We get it - forbidden romance and all that.
There were parts of the story that were mentioned in the beginning and only resolved at the end, and very fast.
I couldn't connect with the characters, and while the plot was interesting, the story focused more on the sexual relationship between the main characters than anything else.
I appreciate the author providing a warning page about what was going to happen, because the amount of sexual dominance in this book bordered on sexual assault.
This was like bad Twilight fanfiction, but a step below 50 Shades of Gray.
