It’s just not what I was hoping it would be. The characters felt odd, the writing felt flat, and there’s a fixation of always making sure every character even those that will never do anything besides being in the background had their skin color be their main description. Or sometimes even their only description. Every time all I could picture then was a blob of whatever skin tone the author put for them.

Quick read. It was lovely. One of those stand alone novels that work by itself. If there was a sequel, I would probably read it. Though to be honest towards the end I skimmed over a bit. Either way I would recommend it to someone.
