I really enjoy listening too and reading about Janelle and Rome and how their relationship Blossom into something beautiful. I do wish Janelle would sood up for herself sooner than later. Other that it was a really good read.

This is how your write a romance book!!!

No notes. I loved everything about this book and couldn't put it down once I started it. Janelle and Rome are couple goals. This vacation setting was everything. And there was just enough drama and tension in the plot to draw me in. I love that the majority of the problems came from outside sources in this book rather than the main couple. They were just so perfect for each other and I loved how they communicated and treated each other.

I need more from this world and this author like now.

This book really taught me I am not this book kinda reader whilst I can understand how so many people love this book, I do think the couple had genuine bond but for me it was just one too many sex scenes that kinda just felt repetitive over the course of the novel and I also felt they fell in love very quickly(and obviously I get that their thing was only supposed to be for a week but like Rome was particularly wanting to marry after he slept with her one time and Janelle was saying that she can never have sex with anyone again like ????? woah lmao) and idk some of the confessions (refer to previous parentheses) just felt slightly corny to me at times, even the book club just felt placed in the novel for the sake of the readers and being playfully for them rather than authentic to the characters at time.

So yeah this was mostly cute I just felt like I was expecting this amazing book for everything I’ve been hearing for the past two like basically since this book was indie published I was hearing about it, so I really wanted to love it, I just didn’t.

4⭐️. This was such a cute story. I like how fast it was and how short. It didn’t feel rushed. It had just the right amount of AAVE that it wasn’t cringy. The sister pissed me off. I’m happy that her relationship wasn’t put completely back together in the end. Rome is the text book definition of “if he wanted to, he would.”

this was such a fun book to read. i truly enjoyed it. i will absolutely be swooning over Rome Martin for the rest of my life. he’s an incomparable book boyfriend. i resonate so much with Janelle & her relationship with her mother, & it was so cool to see her navigate that. i love that Rome gave her the confidence & created the space for her to do it. also, renting a yacht so she could read?! i mean COME ON. i only docked off a star bc of the placements of the beyond the epilogue sections. love love love this though.
