This book….. best of all three in the series and I’m utterly devastated to have to wait for summer 2024 for book four! The writing in this is so great. Love, anguish, sadness, and excitement. Such a good book!

As someone who absolutely ate up book one and two, this one missed the mark for me. I read the first two books in their entirety in less than five days, this one took me two months. I found 1&2 endearingly camp, fun, spicy, with a good enough plot line and likeable characters and had suggested it to a good amount of people who I thought would enjoy the tropyness of it all.

I think a lot of what I feel about book three largely has to do with how much it was dragged out.

Some things that made it drag on:

I kind of felt like I was just in a cycle of like “someone’s in trouble! Let’s get together to save them gang.. we are family!!….sex… torment… someone’s in trouble!!!… let’s get together to-“ and repeat.

Between dialogue was just too much fluff. I don’t need a monologue of descriptions in the midst of every moment of the conversation. I ended up just skipping to the quotations to see what was being said.

Things that were already explained and gone over just kept being explained and gone over. IE the flowers. Too many characters had to be briefed on that, which I know it’s important for the character to know, but as a reader.. I had then read that white flowers mean x like three times.

The characters and storyline kind of just lost me. I know each book is the focus of one Prince primarily. But I adore Fare and he was such a side character, just there for sex and to have his nose in the book (but not actually learn anything helpful) and shout “Rosie!!” A few times.

Rosies ending has been predictable since book one, that’s fine! But the “she’s the most bravest, most beautiful, most horny and soaking wet pink p-ssy in all the realm” was old really fast. Honestly gives me the ick to even type out p-nk 🐱 like it’s giving 🌽 brain. She’s grown.

Wrens plots, or whatever her name was, was also extremely predictable. Overall everything was really, really predictable.

It got cringe 😪 I would only continue this series because I love Cas, but I don’t think I will after this. I have a feeling it’ll just be all the same stuff. If I hear somehow that it’s not, I would give it a try maybe.

This book just dragged on. The first two books I devoured, but this book was like walking with concrete blocks as shoes.
Part of me doesn’t even want to continue the series because characters are starting to become annoying

I will start out by saying i loved books one and two of this series and the whole idea behind it. This one was a little harder. It felt like so much time was spent doing the same things and it was just a book of breaking down the characters. I feel like the first two books gave us so much life to the characters and personality but I walk away from this one feeling like we lost it all. This series has also been pretty predictable so far which isn’t bad but also you kind of wish to be surprised more.

Soft spoilers ahead:

Wrengly is 100% still a bad guy. She was purposely trying to lead Dayton somewhere and I’m guessing the proof of being mates is just another flower messing with them. We know shes not actually his mate. Also the hint at Nightingale also being the Queens daughter and Rosalinas sister is interesting…how did this pregnancy come about if the Queen loves her husband and Rosalina is the older sister? I’m curious to see where they go with it all.

Overall I wouldn’t necessarily say it was an enjoyable read because of all the negative things happening and just sadness. But the story has to be built up somehow. Just hoping for more lightheartedness in the next.
