Fast read trough some short updates on the characters from the world of Sookie Stackhouse.
I've only read the last book after a long pause and was not happy with how it ended.
Because of my long pause I had trouble remembering most of the characters that got updates in this after series publication.
It is not a story but the actual short updates that range from a single sentence to page and a half depending on how important the character is.
I might have had more satisfaction from this book if I were still on the hype train for this series.
In some aspects this series did not age well - I'm a big fan of urban fantasy and alternate histories but putting real life events into it all is not something that ever turns out well. In my opinion it clashes with the fantasy part and the supernatural creatures.

Not necessary for the series. Frivolous writing of what could be instead of allowing readers to imagine the future for the characters. I didn't like that it was in alphabetical order. I also didn't like how minor characters were involved too. I kept asking myself, "Who is this person!?"

This just made me remember why I was so mad at the ending of the true blood series.

I couldn't remember half the characters. I HATED Sookie, Jason and Eric's endings. just No! It doesn't match up with the way the characters acted throughout the rest of the series. Seemed rushed to me.

*sighs*

This is not really a book, in my opinion. It is a kind of tiny re-cap per character, some I didn't even remember when I read about them. Some only had one sentence, and then over to the next page, and the next character.

I read the whole thing while taking a bath, so it probably took me around half an hour... And I was really disappointed! Good thing I just got it for my kindle, because I have asked for a refund!

This book is actually quite good.
Despite all the bad reviews it is nice to see how characters ended up. Most of the characters I don't remember but it's worth taking a bit of time to go through and read how those you enjoyed ended up. I am looking forward to seeing the stories about a few of the characters.
I have been a Sookie fan for only a few years and I felt very happy reading how Sookie, Jason and everyone else ended up.

It is only a list of what happened to each character after the series and there is no actual story. At least Vampire Bill is okay.

I was disappointed. I loved all of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, even the least popular last book in the series. I do not like the way Charlaine Harris wrote endings for many of her best characters. I am sad to say this was my least favorite.

Its been a while since i read the whole sookie stackhouse series, but i was hoping this book would wrap up the series nicely for me. It did do that, but it had been so long that most of the characters mentioned i had to try and remember who they were. Overall an interesting idea for a book that made me wanna reread the entire series .

As a friend said, this was more of a brochure. I read it in like 30 minutes. Some characters I had no clue who they were. I do like that it appears that some characters may appear in new books.

I checked this book out from my local library, unwilling to pay for a book that's mostly blank space and pictures until after I'd given the text a chance. I've been a very loyal reader of the Sookie Stackhouse series, starting around 2005 or so when my mom loaned me the first book. Although I've read all 13 books, I have to admit I don't remember a lot of the minor characters, so a lot of the entries in this reference book didn't mean anything to me. That will be frustrating to anyone who's a more casual reader and not an obsessed fan. It is good to know a bit more about the fates of the main characters: Sookie, Sam, Eric, Bill, Jason, Pam, and Alcide. The information isn't very detailed, but at least it gives you a general idea of who lived happily ever after. Some of the entries show signs of what I'll generously call unpolished writing, and that too is frustrating. Harris has an unpleasant habit of telling us about a misfortune that occurred to a character and then making us infer from context that the result was death. Was it really so hard to say that so-and-so died? Clearly she has no qualms about giving her characters horrid endings, yet she can't seem to bring herself to come out and say so blatantly. Hardcore fans may enjoy the information found in these pages (200 pages, with about 30 pages of actual text), but the average isn't going to enjoy this book.

On the bright side, the entries for Barry the Bellboy and Quinn seem to imply that these characters will get some kind of spin-off or sequel.
