Absolutely devastating.
Think like "They Both Die At The End" but even worse. You know how it's going to end after that first chapter, but you hope it won't anyway, and then it does. My heart is Broken.

A mother shares a story with her daughter. One that flashes back to a weekend 14-15 years ago. It’s a blossoming love story of an older couple that find each other.

This was my first ever Nicholas Sparks book. I was pleasantly surprised. I was actually so sad at the end of the book. It was kinda predictable what happened to the guy but it was still heartbreaking because the woman still holds that space for him even though he’s passed on.

Still don't know why this author is so popular. So very cheesy and improbable. Wanted to give it a 2 star, but realized I was just being petty. 2.5.

Read the book and saw the movie. What can I say? I'm just not a big Nicholas Sparks fan, especially with his endings!

A co-worker gave this to me. I read it in one sitting, and it was just "alright." Perhaps I was expecting something more steamy....

One of Sparks best written novels

Unlike some of his novels in which the plot unravels and goes off in directions clearly not related to the manuscript, this novel kept me fixated on the story and its outcome. No spoilers from me, but an enjoyable read nevertheless.

3.5/5

I was invested, but didn't like the story with her daughter, didn't need that. Otherwise pretty good. I cried.
(but damn Sparks why do you gotta always kill one of your protagonists?)
