I really enjoyed this extended universe story, it brought more story to the original trilogy and filled in some of the gaps. I'm off to find the next one to read!
(4.5 stars)
This was so much fun to read. The action was amazing and the characters were so true to how they are in the movies (both in how they act and how they have been wonderfully illustrated). The appearances of so many great characters was an amazing choice and and there are plenty of great moments to keep readers entertained and engaged.

I didn't think it was possible, but Luke has become dumber and more reckless, while Han lacks all charm and smarts, and Leia makes the occasional really dumb decision (not to mention, why did she have to change into her stupid white dress during a mission when she was in disguise?)
I hope the next set of issues is better, or I'll just have to think the Rebels literally stumbled, totally accidentally, into occasional wins against the Empire.

Oh boy it is nice to be able to keep up with canon as it comes out instead of coming in 200 books behind. I enjoyed all of this, it definitely connects to the movies and is consistent with the characters. There's not much else to say. The story is strong, the characters are intriguing, and there are some juicy expanded universe tidbits revealed, couldn't ask for more.
I read this as a Amazon Prime Reading experiment. Wow. So impressed. This adds some great content to the storyline Lucas originally introduced in the 70s and 80s.
Frankly, I need a hard copy of this on my keeper shelf.

A strong, action-packed introduction to a series depicting the time between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. We get deep insight into old, beloved characters and how their relationship starting building after ANH, and great intros for new characters with interesting stories to tell. One of the most well written and well-created volumes I have ever read!
4.5 - there are a few major points in this book that are crucial to the (new) Star Wars canon.
Enjoyable comic with all the heroes of the classic movie in it. Little bits of humour I found amusing and a lot of the trademarks of the characters were kept in, especially Han Solo and weren't tried to change drastically. However, I did prefer the new Darth Vader marvel series more compared to this; even with more references to the prequels in it.
