I liked the book in general, but became really annoyed by Patterson's lack of imagination in naming the females in his story. Four women named Betsy? Seriously? At least he added an "e" to our main Betsey but still...I didn't realize coming up with a random female name was difficult.

Nothing seems to be going right in the life of our hero Alex Cross... his fiancee Christine leaves him, his daughter Jannie suffers several gran mal seizures, and a series of bank robberies/murders have been taking place around the D.C. area. However, there is a twist to these cases. It seems that there is one mastermind behind them all that doesn't participate in the actual robberies/murders. Instead, he orchestrates it all and then disposes of his crew when he's done with them. Cross must now join together, once again, with the FBI to solve these perplexing cases. This is easily the most exciting book of the series and I thought that it would be impossible for Patterson to improve upon Weasel. Well, he did. I managed to break my personal reading record by finishing this 400 pager in a one-night, five-hour reading binge. Well worth the lack of sleep, I must say. The ending is absolutely incredible, right up to the very last word. I would just like to say one thing, though, regarding the ending... Damn I'm good!
