Someone just give David a blog, this didn't need to be a book. Part of this is actually about TM, and then some chapters are just about things that David likes.
This is a simple book that I would recommend to anyone interested in meditation, creative arts or both. Lynch describes his process, lets you in on his experience with meditation and gives his two cents on various topics, mostly dealing with art and meditation. I can't imagine someone reading this book and NOT wanting to learn to meditate. As someone who already has a meditation practice, it just made me want to meditate more!
An essential text for any creative person, from one of the most brilliant and humane filmmakers in the history of the medium. This thing is a gift. He also reads the audio book version, which is just wonderful.
David Lynch makes his case for transcendental meditation as his method for clearing the mind and hopefully, catching the big fish. While it’s intriguing to know how it’s helped him, I would have enjoyed a practice meditation or several. Definitely good bits of trivia on Lynch’s projects, things I did not know before and this may be a good read for anyone interested in his film work as wel.

Oh man this is a special book. I haven’t read this in years and it came at me now with fresh ears. And what’s so beautiful is that you can easily read it in one sitting and while you’re reading it’s written in a way that you can hear David’s signature voice in your head. He only says what needs to be said and leaves the rest as a mystery, leaving you with these little pearls of wisdom to admire. Love this man.
