Such a cute little children’s book by that actually had lessons for adults as well. It’s all about being a real rabbit.

My 17 year old still has her bunny she’s had since birth, even though he has been so severely cuddled that he’s missing most of his limbs, so this story means a lot to me.

Maybe I'm jaded, but I read this now as a story told to a kid about losing their best toy at a sensitive time.

At a younger age, I remember reading it as encouragement that suffering can yield rewards.

In any case, I finally decided 'skin' means 'suede', and now I'm moderately less creeped out about who the rabbit sat up talking to for all those nights.

This is an old favorite of mine. I'm glad to see it still stands the test of time for me.
