Right now a lot of you are probably thinking "omg two stars? that's it." Well yes that is it. You see I got page 52, the ride there was amazing and powerful and everything else. But then it just got repetitive.
Seriously.
Every chapter seemed to repeat itself but with different dialog. We covered things that I figured out 5 chapters ago, and frankly, I got bored. So after page 62 I skipped to the last chapter. And guess what? It ended exactly as I thought it would end. Including the emotional distress.
Now that I am writing this review I am wondering about 1 star ... nah I'll keep it at 2.

Coming right on the heels of my reading Mark of Athena and Days of Starlight and Blood, I picked up this book (which I started in April) to finish. The problem was, on the heels of the others, this one was so much weaker by comparison to such tight, massive story plays going on.

I wanted more visceral detail about emotions and the things going on with Angels and Watchers than we got. It was good, but it might be a long while before I consider tracking down book two.

This book was awful. Nothing happened. There half a plot. Or a quarter of a plot. Or, I don't know, NO PLOT at all!

I really loved this book. It was a lot different from the books I'm used to reading. It was a beautiful story with a wonderful love story in it. I really love Harlin! I can't wait for the next one and I can't wait to go to the book signing for it tomorrow!!!

This is an unputdowable-read-in-one-sitting book. You will fall head first into Charlotte's story and you won't surface again until it's finished! Suzanne Young has created a unique and original world in A Need So Beautiful.

Charlotte, the protagonist is compelled to help people. Maybe compelled isn't the right word, because her body and mind force her to help complete strangers even when she doesn't want to. Her Need is gradually getting worse as the years go by. It's getting harder for her to hide it from her family and her boyfriend.

Charlotte was a wonderful main character. She was level headed and smart. She was a little pig-headed, but that's mostly because she was in denial of her...powers? Her relationship with Harlin was a breath of fresh air. It was realistic and for the most part uncomplicated. Their relationship was already established, which I love!

Overall, this was a fantastic start to a series. It was addictive and fresh! Read it!

On the plus side, I have managed to complete one of my winter challenge books on the very first day it started. And no, I didn't cheat, I listened to all seven boring hours of this thing - sorry if you liked it, but this book is just dull.

It wasn't the cheesy romance, it wasn't the whole angels and emphasis on religion thing, it wasn't even the annoying voice of the audio narrator... it's just that this story is so blah. So very very blah. Haven't I read this story a million times? Don't I know these characters from nearly every other paranormal romance book? The lovestruck heroine, the hunky love interest, the supposedly quirky but mostly uninteresting best friend?

Apart from a few small annoying things that can be said about a lot of young adult novels (particularly of the paranormal kind), there isn't anything really awful that I can pinpoint specifically, hence the rating of two stars instead of one. But I will have forgotten everything about this book tomorrow. In fact, I'm already in the process of forgetting it... I just had to go back and check up on a couple of names to remind myself of the characters. Not good.

The audio narrator in this case does not do the protagonist any favours. She plays upon her whininess, and makes her sound all the more immature and completely (ridiculously) in love. I can only guess that she thought this sounded cute but, unfortunately, it did not. Also, she never changes her voice for different characters, even though several are male and one is meant to have a British accent. I'm not very experienced with audiobooks but aren't you supposed to be able to tell which character is speaking?

The best part of this book is when Charlotte's skin is peeling off - which should tell you a great deal about my interest in this story. As for the rest, her "steamy" encounters with Harlin, the discovery that she is one of the Forgotten... I really just didn't care.

I have to admit that this book, while not the best, hit a topic that I've thought about for many years. I actually had an idea very similar to this; about a girl who does good deeds and is slowely becoming forgotten...no joke. I really liked the concept of this story but the writing wasn't that fantastic. It had its 'Twilight' moments with the ridiculous romance, though a teenage girl would believably think like that. There was some questions left unanswered, but overall it was an enjoyable read.

When I first saw this book and read the description online I was like "Huh, yet another angel book. Big whoop. *Ignores*" I still don't get what is up with the influx of angels in the YA world but as long as there isn't anymore sparkly vampires I can deal... But I picked it up from the library anyway to give it a try and I am glad that I did.

Charlotte is one of the Forgotten, an angel compelled by a Need to help people she has never met before. But soon the Need becomes stronger until her skin starts to fall away to gold underneath and she learns that she is destined to be forgotten by everyone she has known and loved.

I have to admit, I teared up a bit at the ending!

Simply, I just really felt for Charlotte and the totally horrid choice she had to make. Either have any and everyone you love forget you or stay and become something rather evil. Not cool. It seemed that either way she was getting the short end.

I didn't trust Monroe as far as I could throw him but I did really like Charlotte's relationships with her adoptive mother Mercy, her adoptive brother Alex, and even her best friend Sarah. Though at times, Sarah seemed rather shallow with her "rich white girl problems." The romance also felt rather boring and too "Oh I love him, he is so amazing and we are going to be happily ever after even though I refuse to trust him with my massive life secret." But I still found them at times to be sweet together.

Charlotte's internal conflict and emotions throughout, ugh! In a good way! I was really rooting for her to make it out with her skin (literally) intact.

I would definitely recommend this book and I can not wait for the sequel!

Wow. Just....yeah, wow. I've been trying to write this review for days, and I can't seem to find the right words to share with you how gorgeous A Need So Beautiful really is. See, it's unlike anything I've ever read in so many ways. Suzanne Young has written a story that entranced me, broke my heart, and made me believe in hope all at the same time. I'm being truly honest when I say that this book needs to go on your wish list.

Charlotte is an amazingly multifaceted character. On the surface she is a normal teenage girl. Hanging out with her best friend, sneaking out sometimes, and spending ample hours in the arms of her (extremely hot and swoon worthy) boyfriend Harlin. Just on this level alone I already connected with Charlotte. She was so easygoing, and sweet. However what really made her so fascinating was the heavenly duty with which she had been assigned. This is a girl who, while balancing everything a normal teenager must, has a heavenly duty. She doesn't like it, but it's there.

The Need is what really brought this story to life. Charlotte's sacrifices show the reader how deep of a person she really is. It isn't as though she can run away from it when the Need pulls her. Oh, she's tried. Still, watching Charlotte give up so many things that she really wanted, pulling away from people she loved just to fulfill this Need, is what really got me. I know that being a teenager is tough, and at times egocentric. I've been there. Watching Charlotte battle the two sides of herself was utterly engrossing. Would you be able to give up what was comfortable and easy to fulfill your destiny? I'm not sure I would.

In case you're still stuck up there at the name Harlin, yes there is a romance in this story. A Need So Beautiful provides one heck of a love story. If you aren't sobbing by the end, I'll be truly surprised. Harlin is such an amazing character. He's sweet, funny, and so in love with Charlotte that it's crazy. Rough on the outside and soft on the inside, the perfect boy. Even when everyone around her starts to fade away, it's Harlin that is always there in the foreground. The chemistry between these two made me swoon, and to anyone who says it isn't believable, does it matter? I really wish we all had love like these two do. I really do.

Yes, I'm rambling and I know it. It seems that the more I completely fall in love with a book, the harder it is for me to write a coherent review. The raw emotions that this book evoked for me are hard to explain, but I can say that it's one I won't forget. Plain and simple, you need to read A Need So Beautiful. A heartbreaking story of sacrifice, love, and hope, it's just too fantastic for words. My hope is that you fall in love with as much as I did. Make sure to grab a box of tissues before you read the ending, you'll need it.

This book was pretty original for an angel book. The plot seemed really awesome and it had great potential, too bad it didn't live up to it. I admit when I checked this book out I didn't even read the description of the book, the cover drew me in right away. It's stunning so don't judge me, we all have done it.

This book really didn't pull me in until about the last 100 pages or so. The whole first half of the book I was contemplating putting the it down because you really don't find much of anything out and it's mainly Charlotte whining about what she discovers she really is. I wanted to love this book, I truly did but it ended up being more of a like.

I liked some of the characters like Harlin and Alex (The few times we actually see him) as well as Mercy. Harlin was the really cool bad boy type who drove a motorcycle and wore leather but was really just a big sweetheart who loved Charlotte. Alex was just hilarious every time we see him, he has witty comebacks for everything and is all around likeable I just wish he was in the book more. I did like Charlotte in the beginning. She seemed reasonable and confident but as the story slowly goes on she turns into a whiny character who complains about her problems non-stop. Her best friend Sarah is no better. She's stuck up, self centered and whiny as well. She complains about how everything goes wrong for her when she could just not put herself into those situations.

There were parts of this book that are really amazing, like the love between Charlotte and Harlin which is just completely adorable. They were just meant to be together and it was okay since they fell in love before the book takes place so it wasn't insta-love. Then there's the end. When Charlotte realizes everything isn't about her and what she wants.

I probably will be reading the next one in the series at some point especially with how this book ended.
