It was a cute little read , and I needed palette cleanser , I love middle grade books because of the way they handle difficult topics especially when it pertains to little children anyways love this

Cute friendship story about working together and teen awkwardness

So happy to see some great graphic novels on Vermont's children's choice book award list this year. I have now read all three and they are all worthy of the list, but different in their own right. This is the perfect middle school story with trouble saying what you know you should say, but instead just sitting through tons of awkward moments. Anyone who is 11 or 12, or has been will be able to relate.

Reading aloud to my 8 year old.

Great school-age read. I'm starting to really enjoy these realistic fiction graphic novels. My twelve-year-old son read this 3 times in two days so it also gets a huge thumbs up for that!

A very cute read-alike for "Smile" and "Drama."

Awesome book about making friends, gaining confidence, and putting trolls in their place. Excellent lessons for kids of all ages.

This book does an excellent job at capturing the angst that is the life of a middle schooler, adding in humor and genuine emotion. I appreciate that Peppi was conflicted about her actions toward Jaime—she knew what she did was wrong, but she did not have the courage to apologize. Extremely diverse cast of characters as well that are just ordinary kids and adults.

This book was sweet and fun and wonderfully ethnically diverse. I've never seen a classroom in a graphic novel look so much like the community in which I actually grew up (which is an unusually diverse community). The characters were given a decent amount of depth and the book positively promotes male-female friendship without a romantic element as well as presenting the importance of not hurting others just for self preservation and the importance of forgiveness.
