So I remember thinking somewhere mid-way through the book that The Immortal Highlander was going to be a solid 4 star review.

And I may, or may not have had good reasons for that, but after the last 10ish% I doona care.

5 STARS bestillmyheart 5 STARS.

I’m such a sucker for Moning’s Highlander series! I stumbled across the first one years ago and I never would have predicted that I’d be reading the 6th one in 2022! But here I am!

We’ve met Adam a few times throughout the series and his character has played such a big role from the behind the scenes it was so great to read his own story! The only thing I love more than a Highland romance are fantasy romances and fae so this book had it all for me!

As usual I found a few places in this book I wished we could just KISS ALREADY and a few times where I wished Moning didn’t rush action scenes. I found this one did that even more so than the previous books. Like the scene where Daroc and Adam finally meet and should battle it out… well it was anticlimactic to say the least.

BUT like I said, I have such a soft spot for these novels that I can look past it all!

Plus that epilogue was so beautiful *eyes tear up* I forgive!

I will say I wish it was a little more spicy. These books don’t have half as much spice as you’d expect with those covers!

I swear these books just keep getting better and better. I loved how this incorporated the twins and their wives. I also totally fell in love with Adam Black. My heart just broke for him and how lonely he was. The end was the best HEA of this series so far. I had to sit and just hug my phone for a few minutes when I finished because I was so happy for them. Can't wait for the next of the series!

This explains so much about the Fever series!

So good. Interwoven characters, story and dialoge EXCELLENT.

Forget Dageus. I want Adam Black.

Eh, kind of shitty especially given how much I like her other books. Definitely my least favorite of hers.

10/10

The beginning was a bit rough but it definitely picked up after the first couple chapters. My only problem was the cliche of the two main characters. Adam Black was your typical womanizer; to beautiful for his own good. And then we have Gabrielle, a twenty four year old virgin that is constantly being saved by Adam.
Now that isn't the best depiction of both characters, they do grow and become people that I'm actually a fan of but throughout the entire novel these moment would pop up that just made me roll my eyes 👀.
But all and all, I enjoyed the novel and ended up reading it in a day.
