More guilty pleasure. This one had me really turning pages, though...with the dark fairy being hunted as a human. Chalk this quick read up to being sick and not being able to concentrate on anything deeper. :)
I think this is my favorite book of the whole series.
Adam Black was a character I couldn’t get enough of, I loved that he was the catalyst to a lot of shenanigans. I loved that he gets a taste of his own medicine and that the Queen wants to teach him a lesson.
Gabrielle is one of the see’ers meaning she can see both worlds the Mortal and the Faery and it is so, so, important that no one knows this. But when she sees Adam she can’t look away and it gives her away.
I loved the interaction the chemistry just everything about this book. The ending oh my the ending <3 My heart grew 2 sizes I swear it.
Again loved the narration.

6 stars! When I first started out with the first book of the Highlander series, I wasn't that enamoured with it. So it took me a while before I went on with book 2, where I started to get hooked onto the story and this world. And very soon, I found myself devouring books 3, 4, 5, and now this, the 6th book.
The character of Adam Black has been around since the first book, and anyone who has read that book will know he's no nice guy. But then the books progressed on and you realise there's so much more to him than an arrogant, and manipulative Fae.
By the end of the book, I had tears in my eyes. The growth of Adam from the first book to the sixth has been an incredible journey. Absolutely loved this book, definitely one of my favourite in this series.

"If aught must be lost, it will be my honor for yours. If one must be forsaken, it will be my soul for yours. Should death come anon, it will be my life for yours. I am Given."
*sigh* I love that quote so very much.
I don't know what to say about this book that will not give anything away! It was great finally getting a story for Adam after seeing him in book after book in the series, and it was great seeing that vulnerability in Adam that you had never seen before.
Gabrielle O'Callaghan, a spit-fire. She punches the man the moment she see's him again! And then head butts him AND knee's him where it hurts! Loved her.
If you've read the rest of the Highlander series, you will enjoy this one just as much as all the others.

I decided to give a few of these Highlander books a chance because I loved the Fever series so much. This book was "meh..." at best. First of all, why are all the heroines virgins in these books? What's with that? Virgins that end up spending their first time with dudes that are hung like fire hoses. lol what a mess. Anyway, KMM's story telling is just fine, but I find her heroines in these books to be these snivelling, obnoxious, weak little A-holes. You can literally make a Highlander Equation: Tortured Girl + Strife! / Burly Possesive Man! (conflict + hurried solution) - Virginity = Yays! Marriage and Itty Bitty Babies!! Yawn.

God I love Karen!!! Seriously, hot and really awesome read.
I just don't love Adam Black and I didn't care for or relate to the female lead...so it was just tough to get through this one.
