3.4 ⭐️ idk didn’t live up the hype of the first one in my opinion. I also still struggle to relate to the guilt that the characters carry around from SAVING lives. I just don’t understand lol

This was a great second installment, or a second book to the duology. I really enjoy following Simidele along her journey. She has a strong sense of duty that she must save everyone. But things keep ongoing wrong. And she believes that she can never be happy, so she has to sacrifice herself for everyone else and along her journey, she discovers that They're all in it together. this book is rich in the mythology, and I love that about it with the added lore of mermaids made it even better and the love story that grew between kola and Simiele was good. also good touch. i think it was a solid medium pace and had a good dose of adventure action with the love story. It was very much a mix between plot and characters focused
Once again, I was impressed with the world and story that Natasha weaves. I LOVE the mythology and folklore present in this story and the historical ties. It's what I fell in love with with the first book and it continues in this one.
