Powerful, breathtaking and magical. There are alot more disturbing and heartbreaking moments within this novel as like the book before, it discusses the heartbreaking, cruel and disgusting use of the slave trade and how it infected like a virus into certain african tribes, there were and have been in fighting…. But the pale people capitalised on it and made it into something truly barbaric and inhumane. This tale is about the promise and hope of vengeance against these atrocities and also a fated love story. It left me crying with rage and love.

I love the African mythology, still solid. But the pacing? The story? This story could have been a novella, nothing happened but stuff happened? There was a lot that was unnecessary and could have been condensed. I feel like this story didn’t really want to be written.
The conflicts were dealt with so easily.
Some sections dragged on.
It wasn’t what I was expecting and it’s been about 2 years since I read the first one and kind of forgot what happened but I feel like this book wasn’t on par.
