The Wife Upstairs may have been more enjoyable if I’d read Jane Eyre before, as this is supposed to be the modern day take on Jane Eyre. I enjoyed this book, but for a thriller it seemed kind of predictable. The first half of the book read like a romance novel and then finally the twist that keeps you hooked, I felt the twist made this book so much more enjoyable, but it came too late. The first half just keeping you engaged enough to keep reading. 3.5 stars, would have enjoyed more hooks in the beginning parts of the book!
