This book was spot on for me - as a woman navigating life with lots on my plate, this was so targeted to me. Jessica's words confirm I'm not alone in this journey and offers tangible suggestions on how to make more time for myself and what to consider to adjust. Loved this book!

Last week I was the poster child for a working mom who was 'Stretched Too Thin". It was more stressful and crazy than usual. I was simply treading water. I was coming off a 12-day cross country road trip and was attempting to catch up at both home and at work. To add fuel to the fire, it was the last week before school starts. You know the drill- school supplies, annual "what fits" clothing show, open houses, etc. for 4 kids.

I am so glad that I made the opportunity to listen to this book on audio. I quickly stopped counting the number of times I uttered, "Yes- that's so true!" Or "I couldn't agree more." Listening to it on audio was such a delight. It was like having a conversation with a friend over coffee.

I encourage you to buy both the audio and hardcover version. (If you pre-order the print version, you get the audio for free.) The print version has a reflection activity at the end of each chapter. Turner just doesn’t want you to read about how to thrive as a working mom, she gives you the tools to make it happen.

This is a must-read for working moms at every stage of life.

I just finished this audio book after being selected as part of the launch team and all I can say is I can't wait to read the actual book and go through the writing prompts in each chapter. As a working mom for the past 12 years there have been seasons when I have felt more than stretched too thin and this book gives great practical tips on how to manage those feelings. Some things I have implemented before reading it after those trying times but there are so many more great suggestions that I want to think through and see how they will help me.
If you are a mom, wether working outside the home or not, you should read this book. I have many "stay at home mom" friends who are even more busy than I am doing "all the things"

I liked this book but I definitely didn’t love it. I think I liked it more because it’s a book for working moms whereas many mom books I’ve seen/read are for stay at home moms (not a bad thing, I just like the different representation). I liked many of her suggestions, especially for fostering a stronger relationship with your spouse. However, I did not enjoy many of her personal anecdotes as she seems to over schedule herself and doesn’t fit with the whole “don’t stretch yourself too thin” thing. At one point, she says she gets physically ill multiple times a year from doing too much. Y’all. That should not be a thing in a book about working smarter and thriving.

Overall two stars--this book tried to summarize about 50 other books, so overall, it was kind of exhausting. But there were a few really good insights (when you find yourself saying that you "should" do something, be curious about that instead of just accepting it; look at your time (particularly your work time) as a one-week block instead of individual days to see if there is a way to reorganize time).

I'm not a mom but there are some good ideas for making my life easier. I already feel better.

A fitting self-help novel to round out my hellish year. I can’t say I learned much, as it is very much geared towards working mothers of younger children, and I am not that. It did confirm some things about my work situation about which I was already taking action. I found most of what Ms. Turner has to say as nothing more than common sense, but sometimes you need to hear it from someone else. Being a working mother is difficult, and if this is a book that can help you, then I suggest you read it for the chance to assess your values and goals and find ways to make motherhood a bit easier.

Stretched Too Thin is the “self-help” book every female needs! I don’t care if you are a mother or childless, spouse or single, home owner or living with your parents - Turner offers sage advice, relatable experiences and achievable solutions. From friendship to self-care, work, parenting and home every page had me nodding my head in agreement and jotting down notes for positive changes to make in my own life. Anyone who has ever felt overwhelmed or guilty will relate to this book.

As a working female, or adult in general, I often feel overwhelmed in all that needs to be accomplished and the minimal hours in my day. I feel frustrated that many of the books I read on overwhelmed feelings offer stories with no solutions or workable advice. Stretched Too Thin provides relatable experiences and attainable action items to better yourself. It also provides important reminders that every human needs to hear again and again. Each chapter wraps up with several pages of prompts and activities to help the reader both become self-aware and resolve the concepts broached in each chapter.

This is absolutely a book I will be picking up again and again! For any female, mother, adult or employee, do yourself a favor and read this book.
