Listened to this one. Too much action, means too many details to get lost in. Also, why are these O'Neils so sadistic?? Heather was OK. Meh. The narrator was tough on this book. Great voice, but she whispered a LOT. Could not hear her over my car engine and couldn't turn it up with kids on headphones in back seat.

4 stars because of its compulsive readability, but if I were being hypercritical, this may only be a 3 star read.

This book was tough to get through - I had to take a break because it was so intense. The detailed descriptions of the island's geography were a bit much, and I found myself skimming through those parts, but I get that they were needed to make the story believable. Despite that, the main characters kept me hooked, and I'm glad I stuck with it until the end. Honestly, I'm surprised it hasn’t been made into a movie yet.

The Island is a very bland thriller and relies too heavily on twists. I didn’t care about the characters or understand their motivations. It all seemed contrived.

This was a fun thriller. Nothing super special or memorable, but I enjoyed reading it.
