It’s a fun fast read, but it doesn’t quite hit the romantic fantasy spot for me because
I don’t like the last twist in my fantasy haha, also they are just a bit too real but not real enough to be like gritty I guess, that said it’s a good book. My favorite bit is how the boss is actually emotionally abusive and I thought that dynamic was interesting to read. I was a bit disappointed that we didn’t get more details on Mark’s these
. It does future my favorite theme in fiction, healing from trauma.

This book was amazing! It was the second romance book I’ve read, and  just great. I loved how the enemies to lovers was written. Everything written was either intriguing on some way to keep me reading and I finished it in one day! Definitely recommend to anyone who likes romance.

This was a sweet millennial-confusion, workplace-enemies-to-lovers romance! Some of the one-liners definitely made me snort, and I ended up liking how this took on some problems of modern cishet girlboss feminism. I do think all Brinkley's crappy academic ex-friends needed to get rolled into one, more solid character and maybe made a little less cartoonishly bad... same with the rollercoaster of info that comes about her mom, which could've been simplified. But this was really fun and I'm glad I read it!

Okay, I really, really liked the premise of this one. Destroying men who wronged women? Yes. Please. It did give me some Hating Game vibes (which if you ask anyone - I'd gladly light that book on fire), but overall, the book addressed toxic behavior waaaaaaay better than HG, and that included characters calling out their female boss (and rightfully so - woman was toxic as all get out). The narrator of this one was also kind of terrible, so if you can, maybe just read it in e-book or hard copy form. -shrug-

This books plot instantly intrigued me, a company that specializes in getting revenge on men? It gave major spy/secret agent vibes so I had to read it.

Overall, the plot with the company was honestly really interesting and I really enjoyed the main character, Brinkley (however, I do no love her name). But, I found myself wanting more on the Heartbreak for Hire company & Margo herself. I found a lot of it to be hard to believe, which it’s fiction so I get it, but at the same time I just wanted more. That and I just greatly disliked Margo and wish we knew more about her motives. She just seems sketchy and there were a lot of things I didn’t like about her and only felt maybe 2 were even slightly addressed. However, the assignments themselves were really fun to read about, even if they were outlandish.

I loved Mark and how they meet. Him becoming her coworker after being her target was fun to read about, especially after their original encounters. I loved the banter & jokes between Mark & Brinkley and overall just found them a fun couple to read about. And the spice!??? I had no idea this book had any sort of page so when I got only 30 pages in I was surprised, but I thought it was well done and rate the overall spice level in the book to be a 2/2.5 🌶

Overall I enjoyed reading this and felt it to be a pretty solid read. There were a few things here and there I didn’t love, but it’s still a good book and a pretty light & quick read!

im fluctuating between 3.75 and a 4

i obv liked the premise, im all for the man eating gigs. i also loved how that path panned out for everyone involved.

im kinda iffy about the parts towards the end bec it was going too fast?? BUT the conclusion was solid for a standalone. u cant possibly tie up every loose end if it's just one book
