I loved these two together, and I love how even in the sequels, they are still always kissing and touching and Jules is still giving them crap about it. I'm so glad Nat told Sam off too. God she was such a snotty b!tch, even in her own book.

I tried reading this a LONG while back, I'm not even sure if it was this year, and I hated every second of it. The insta love was nauseating, and I couldn't figure out where the big hype for the novel came from.

I don't remember much of the detail about the story itself, but I remember the strong dislike it evoked in me for sure.

I do kind of consider going back to it and giving it a second chance just because I had read Proby's Listen to Me and really liked it, but whether I could convince myself to do that is left to be seen.

7/23/21 I had read the book many years ago. I then binged the series. Now it is time to binge all the audiobooks. I don't remember blushing so much when I read the book. The dynamics between Natalie and Luke are very entertaining. The family conflicts are even more entertaining.

This was enticing and sexy. There was a lot of toe curling moments.

“He could melt glaciers with that smile. End wars. Resolve the national debt crisis.”

The moment Luke met Natalie was real entertaining. He thought she was taking pictures of him and he wanted to take her camera from her but she did not let him have it. She showed him the pictures she took and none of the pictures she took has him in it. They had a connection that she felt and later that day she ran into him again and he asked her out.

“Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.”

She had a hard life losing her parents and he made her happier in life. She smiled more in life. He liked her moment he figured out that she did not know he was. She was refreshing for him and he did not want to tell her who he was because he was scared she would act differently. She found out about him in an unexpected way and she was so angry that day that they nearly broke up because of it but she went to him the next day to talk about it. He was so romantic with her that she was starting to fall in love with him. He took her to meet his family and she stood up for him against his sister and his mother noticed that she might love him.

“Because you're the first woman I've brought into my home and all I can think about is getting your beautiful body naked and fucking you senseless. I need to know if there is any competition. I don't share, Natalie.”

I loved there relationship and how they thought to be together. They had some hard times and nearly lost each other but they got together in the end and everyone in Natalie’s adoptive family loved Luke and everyone in Luke’s family love her except Sam but later when they nearly lost Luke in an accident they got closer so now they have a better relationship. I really loved this because there love was so romantic and had me gooey inside most of the time.

I loved that Natalie wasn't a size 2 but a woman with curves. I loved that, while they're romance was quick, their hearts were open from the start. Yes they were both cautious, but that didn't stop either of them from falling in love with the other so quickly.

Luke definitely is a very private man, but a fiercely protective man at that and it shows from the very beginning of the book.

I very much loved this book.

Smutastic!

Come Away with Me is one of those kindle books that you will fly through. Natalie and Luke are just one of those couples that you can easily fall in love with. Their chemistry together made it such a freaking page turner that I couldn't wait to see how their story was going to play out.

Natalie is probably one of my favorite freaking people right now. She doesn't take anybody's shit and seems to have a pretty fun and cool job. She doesn't care about money that much and doesn't really know how to deal with relationships. Oh, and she definitely doesn't like lies (no matter how big or small they are).

Then there's Luke, and hot damn - I loved him. Jealousy is definitely a 50/50 kind of thing to like and boy did I love when these two were jealous. However, the first time I met Luke .. well, I wasn't head over heels about him. Low and behold, he definitely wormed his way into my heart and I just couldn't not ship them together ya know?

Of course these two seemed to be in a real life relationship. They dealt with so many situations that realistic couples do. Awkward family situations to maybe some little white lies here and there. The main thing was mostly due to their lacking communication skills - but hey, who am I to judge?

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Some things were highly predictable and after knowing that the second book is about her best friend and her boss?? How could I not want to dive into that book?

Alright, so I feel like I have some explaining to do. You know how sometimes you make sweeping statements about things you're not going to do anymore? Like "hey, Goodreads, I'm not going to read self-published romance that is just an excuse for the author to get paid to write nothing but smut anymore"? Well, I obviously lied because I always seem to get wrapped up into these thirty book series and they are never as good as I hope they will be.

How I got here: My library had the new release, [b:The Scandal|60641947|The Scandal (Single in Seattle #2)|Kristen Proby|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1649952600l/60641947._SY75_.jpg|95593524], available and it looked good so I got it. I really liked that one and it was spicy but not extreme spicy. It was so obvious that this was a second generation series once I started reading and I wanted to check out the parent's book. Instead of jumping into Stella's parent's book, I started the With Me in Seattle series from the beginning and that's why I am writing this review.

Proby's writing has SUBSTANCIALLY improved in the ten years between these books. This book is written fine, but is barely concealed pornography which led to a lot of skimming on my part. If I see the word "baby" again, I'm going to vomit, and the hero is hot and cold. There is chemistry for sure but it's just so weird how he was a complete jerk but then I'm supposed to believe that they instantly fell in love. It makes sense why he liked her from the beginning, but it didn't make as much sense on her end.

I also didn't like that the main character, Natalie, was written as the "fat" character when she obviously wasn't. She was able to share clothes with her playboy model best friend, so it doesn't make any sense at all that she would be larger than a size four ABSOLUTE MAX. Further, her boyfriend talks about how he loves to watch her eat like it's a weird kink. It's okay for female characters to be fat, it's also okay for them to not be. But maybe don't pretend she's fat and then write her as though she isn't.

Every character I've met so far is so weakly characterized and I know that's because the point of this book is the smut but it still infuriates me. Samantha in particular, the hero's sister, is such a horrible example of poor characterization. She hates the main character until all the sudden she doesn't anymore. Done, game over, now we are best friends. That makes no sense. Also, how are all of these people insanely rich? ALL of them. It doesn't make any sense. On not making sense - the timeline. What is going on here? This has been like a week. Weird.

Lastly, there's a trope there at the end that I do NOT like, I will NEVER like, and it's in every single self-published romance novel out there. I won't be delving into that deeper here because it made me angry and its also a spoiler. But just be warned. Bad tropes abound.

Now with all of that being said, I finished it and I'm going to read the other one because the next novel is Stella's parents (the one I actually wanted to read in the first place.) The fact that I'm continuing this series means that clearly something about it hooked me, so I'll give an extra star for that.
