I decided to pick this up because of peer pressure a la the Goodreads Challenge. Apparently I'm behind on my challenge and since I haven't had very much time to read lately I decided to give this novella a shot. It went as I expected which means: it's fast paced, filled with loads of sexual tension/scorching scenes and left me feeling like I needed more. The usual when it comes to these serials. To be honest I don't read them often because I don't really like them much. I much prefer a full length book then half finished 1/4 of a book that end in stupid "cliffhangers" or what I'm sure is all one big misunderstanding.
I like the character enough though they both annoyed me at times. Hailey with her sweet and then at times OTT bitchiness, pretending to be some tough "I don't care" girl and then shedding a tear the moment a guy she knows is an asshole, treats her like assholes treat women.
And Cole with his "I want her but I'm not good for her. She's too innocent for me.." blah blah blah can you please shut the hell up with that crap? I've yet to see you do one bad thing except play games with her. And if you really are bad for her then stay the hell away. This might juts be a me thing but I'm getting so tired of the heroes in books playing the whole "I'm not good enough but I'm going to pretend to be in this anyway and then the moment things get serious, I'll fuck it up for no good reason". Ugh just bye.
The more I think about this the more riled up I'm getting so I'm going to end this review now before I end up lowering my rating. Try it or don't try it, it's honestly nothing I haven't read before but it might be something good to read to pass some time.

Calling all "good girls" who secretly lust after the dirty talking, alpha "bad boy" ... This book may have been made just for us!
Ok ... Maybe I can't fool anyone with the good girl act ... but this book really brings that dynamic to life in a hot, HOT way! Cole & Hailey may easily become one of my fave fictional couples by the end of this three part serial!

There is something very unique about the writing style that I found satisfyingly fresh ... The descriptives are beyond erotic ... Especially the way the characters describe each other ... And please do NOT get me started on Cole's wonderfully dirty mouth ... Unless you also want to talk about how easily Hailey matched him with her filthy tongue ;)
I didn't get as much of the hate as I was expecting ... but honestly, it made no difference. There was still a lot of hostility, mixed up with a lot of forbidden desire and that was more than good enough for me!
Can't wait to get the rest of this story!!!

I thought this was pretty good for the first installment. I thought for sure there would be nothing but wall to wall sex throughout the whole thing, but there wasn't. I really liked both characters and it ended on a cliffy which drew me in and makes me want to read the next installment. It would be cool if she does books for the other guys in The Hours Group, they sound yummy.
I have a little love hate thing with Sexy Serials. They are great because usually I can blow through one in a little over an hour and get a nice size dose of sexy so that I can move onto other more plot engrossing books. They are a problem because there is always a little cliff hanger at the end so you are sure to jump into the next one when it comes out….and I hate waiting.
At least I didn’t start this one until at least 2 sections of it were out and I won’t have to wait very long for the last installment. The best thing about Hate Fuck is the anger filled foreplay. Trying to convince yourself that you don’t really want the person you are attracted to and behaving badly so that your body won’t have a chance to overrule your head is really a fun story when done right.
Meet our bad boy Cole:
Is Cole really bad? Well I really wish he was but unfortunately he is the bad boy who never feels good enough for the good girl and does a few jerk things to push her away, but ultimately he is a good guy. Cole is easy to like because he is a good guy who just happens to have a bad job protecting the rich scumbags of the world, one of whom is Hailey’s dad and the other is her scandal seeking sister.
Meet our good girl Hailey:
Hailey grew up in a family that seems to be a little on the Kennedy side of life. Her father was implicated in a murder six months ago and her sister just recently in a sex tape with non-other than the Vice President. She has done her best to distance herself from her family but when the shit hits the fan and reporters show up looking for a sound bite Cole is there to make sure they don’t get one. He is nothing Hailey ever thought she wanted in a man but her body totally disagrees.
The more time Cole spends trying to push Hailey away the more intense his desire for her seems to grow. The more they fight with one another and try to antagonize each other the hotter the passion between them builds until it spills over until lust and longing overrule logic and rational thought.
The ending is a little cliff hanger that made me dive into the next installment right away.
Overall:
The sexual tension build up was hot. The overall story ploy line a bit interesting and the characters both ended up being likable for different reasons. My only regret is that Cole isn’t really a bad boy, because sometimes I just like a good asshole in a story.
