Love Your Life

Sophie Kinsella

3.15 AVERAGE

2.5 stars. The first half of the book was very difficult to read, with a main character who I found totally unlikeable and a premise that lacked believability—I was constantly rooting for the love interests to NOT end up together, and the only reason I kept reading was in the hope that they would in fact break up for good. The second half (or third) of the book is MILES better and so much more enjoyable, which is why this book isn’t getting only one star.

I was really looking forward to reading this book because I have high fan of this author's writing. This book did not meet my expectations. The story starts off slow. I didn't believe there was any real chemistry between Ava and Matt. It just seem too forced. The story seemed to drag quite a bit. It seemed very different from the hilarious stories have read in the past with a heartwarming ending. This just didn't hold up.

Good, but not my favorite of hers. Would give it 3.5 if I could. Laugh out loud moments for sure

I don’t know, this was quite readable but I wouldn’t call it enjoyable. The characters all got on my nerves, the dog was so badly behaved, and the story was absurd. Maybe I’m just getting too old for books like this or maybe I’m just going off Sophie Kinsella but her last few books have really disappointed.

This book was so different than what I usually read! I’ve read some RomComs before and needed a fun read to distract me. This book goes off in a lot of different directions and definitely kept my attention. I’m not a huge fan of the main character, but the author did a fantastic job writing her. I had a hard time relating because she is much more religious than me (earth crystals, astrology, etc) and is a lot more emotional or impulsive than rational at times. Overall, it’s a really fun to read about these two VERY different people trying to bring their lives together. It’s about living your best life and loving yourself even when you’re dating someone that might lead a totally different life, plus enjoying those differences.

I’d give this a 3.5 stars. A really slow start but in the end Sophie K did her thing and created a touching but charming love story.

Sophie Kinsella never disappoints. She always gives her readership a perfectly crafted love story. There’s a protagonist you immediately feel connected to, a group a friends you wish you could hang out with, a conflicted love interest, an antagonist who always gets their comeuppance, personal growth, and this time SK added a dog to the mix.

I always enjoy the hilarious inner-dialogue of her main character and you can’t help but laugh-out-loud. Witty and charming to the end.

This was a truly enjoyable read through and through! I found myself really connecting with the characters, laughing out loud, feeling hurt, and of course feeling all the love all while reading!

I have read many books by this author but this one is my favorite so far! I highly recommend it!!
