Love Your Life

Sophie Kinsella

3.15 AVERAGE

Sophie Kinsella never disappoints. She always gives her readership a perfectly crafted love story. There’s a protagonist you immediately feel connected to, a group a friends you wish you could hang out with, a conflicted love interest, an antagonist who always gets their comeuppance, personal growth, and this time SK added a dog to the mix.

I always enjoy the hilarious inner-dialogue of her main character and you can’t help but laugh-out-loud. Witty and charming to the end.

This was a truly enjoyable read through and through! I found myself really connecting with the characters, laughing out loud, feeling hurt, and of course feeling all the love all while reading!

I have read many books by this author but this one is my favorite so far! I highly recommend it!!

This was a really fun, cute book. I've only ever read one Kinsella book, years ago. I had heard the synopsis of this book and loved the idea of it without knowing the author and thought it sounded great. I'm glad I read it. It's one of those books that felt good to read.

Story didn't catch me until the second half, was sort of expecting it. Not sad that I read it. Not going to rave about it either.

I read this because I had really enjoyed Kinsella's Finding Audrey. There were parts of this that I really liked and it would make a good, romantic holiday read but the main character annoyed me regularly. I paid for and listened to the audio book and saw this through to the end but am wondering if I wouldn't have been as tenacious if I had borrowed it from the library...

Like many readers I enjoy Kinsella's quirky stand alone romances. I picked this one up looking for a light hearted romp. However just a few chapters in I couldn't help but wonder how I was going to get thru this novel with such a flaky protagonist? Sadly Ava's character never jived for me. I couldn't get invested in her life or her relationship when she made so many just dumb decisions. She's presented as a "romantic" but she's really just a flake. I really feel like her character need some more developing in regards to why she is the way she is. That might have rescued the book. Regardless I finished, but at the end all I felt was relief that I could return this book back to my library.
