A SK classic. Listened on audiobook.
I admit to skipping some of the middle. As I get older I find my stomach can't stand the misunderstandings due to miscommunications, that the reader can see, but watch the characters go through like watching an accident happen in slow motion.

Woooo-boy. This was not great. I was like "surely it will pull itself together, surely some character is going to come along and make everything okay." But no, it was like red flag red flag red flag MAGIC WAND everything is okay. The end. The best part was when they were doing accents for the dog. That was hilarious and I think of it almost every day. Sophie Kinsella, what am I going to do with you?

I usually love her books but this one was super disappointing. The characters were just sooo annoying and unlikeable.

It’s just… as someone committed to doing the work on myself, it’s really hard to read a book about two characters who so obviously need boatloads of therapy. Overall, it’s one of those rom coms where they really shouldn’t end up together. Also, pet lovers be warned for a wildly unnecessary dramatic turn with the dog at the very end (he’s ok though). Cute writing as always from Sophie Kinsella, but strained characters turn this fast read into a fast slog.

This one made me cringe a lot!
