My favorite of the Swallow Cove books! I love an ace MC, and Declan does not disappoint. I also love consent, and Cash doesn’t disappoint!
Declan is so beautiful. Quiet, a little grumpy, a little withdrawn, and maybe a little lost and lonely. Then there’s Cash - outgoing, sexual, and completely obsessed with Declan.
It’s a slow burn. One that requires both of them to shift their understanding of each other, and time to truly learn and understand both themselves and the other.
I love both the trajectory of the relationship as well as the life and home they build. It’s a truly wonderful pairing that may be my favourite in the series.
Sure I see a bit of myself in Declan, but I also just adore the way Cash grew and how they balanced each other.

I love Declan! Mr. Grumpypants deserves all the happiness in the world.
Unfortunately I think this is the last book in this series. There are no more friends in the friends group. There will be a spin-off with a character who we met in this book who moved out of town at the end. And the author has released chapters in a novella about Danny, the flirty cafe owner, on her patreon, which I’ll be excited to read once it’s properly released. There are numerous other series with character we met visiting town throughout this series, but I haven’t read any of them yet.
This was my first series by this author. It was recommended to me when I was looking for something with a similar vibe to Palm Island by KM Neuhold. This was a good fit. They are both very low-angst, fun fluffy reads set in a vacation town. Palm Island is a bit more spicy, but Swallow Cove has more rep such as bi, ace, and demi. I definitely recommend Palm Island to fans of Swallow Cove, and Vice Versa. I’m excited to read more by DJ Jamison. Especially Outcast.

4.5☆
This was so cute and sweet! I really enjoyed reading this, and despite just jumping into this series I could follow along just fine.
Cash is an unrepentant constant flirt, who sets his eyes on Declan who runs the B&B in Swallow Cove, and who unbeknownst to Cash is graysexual. It was very interesting to read about Cash and Declan's journey to their happily ever after. I loved how they navigated their relationship and the fact the they had open and honest communication. Cash really had to work hard to convince Declan to give their relationship a chance, but I loved how perseverant he was and how patient he was, but also how openly he shared his feelings with Declan. Declan could always be sure of Cash's feelings. Declan was resistant because he was afraid of not being able to give Cash what he wanted phisically in a relationship, but thankfully Cash made him realize that he was in it no matter what. It was beautiful to watch their relationship blossom, and to watch Declan open up and let himself have a relationship. Declan was lonely and he was starved for companionship and cuddles, and Cash gave his affection so freely, that Declan was afraid that Cash wouldn't be happy and satisfied with him. But Cash is more than he seems, and proved Declan wrong. Their love wasn't loud, but it was so strong. I felt like their communication was the best foundation for their relationship. I loved that Cash researched what it meant to be graysexual and actually understood and honered Declan's needs.
There were a bunch of funny moments and it was fun seeing the other couples from the series. The friend group seems like such a fun one, and now I have to go back and read the other books in this series. I also really enjoyed all the puns in this book. The epilogue was so cute and I loved the little cameos by characters from other series.
I appreciated the low-angst and really enjoyed how cute and sweet Declan and Cash were. If you're in the mood to read about a grumpy B&B owner and a flirty and bubbly front desk agent(receptionist) getting their happily evwr after then this book is for you. It is a more emotional book because of the journey both main characters are on, but it's a beautiful journey and worth the read.
I received a copy of this book from Neon Rainbow Reviews, and this is my honest review.

This is almost a 4 star, but I can't quite round up even though I liked the couple and I even liked the appearance of the various couple from Granville.
One of my ongoing issues with the series is how much the book timelines overlap, but since Cash and Declan have been built up from the beginning, I appreciated that we at least got the other side of some of the previous events.

I love this author and I love this series! I’ve had a soft spot for Cash since the first book, and I loved getting to see Declan’s thoughts and feelings.
I love when the late conflict in the bookhas nothing to do with the couple, and isn’t a 3rd act breakup !!

This is book four in the author’s Swallow Cove series and featured Cash and Declan who we met in the previous books.
I was kinda torn in the beginning. After seeing how Cash purposely tried to make Declan jealous by staying in his B&B with his one night stands, I was fully prepared to seriously dislike him but it wasn’t that simple. When we found out WHY Declan was ignoring Cash’s advances, it broke my heart for both of them and I spent part of the first half of the book with tears in my eyes.
I have to say though that I loved how it all worked out, especially the mention of our favorite folks from Granville.
To me, this one was a lot heavier and with more angst than the previous three and, although I enjoyed it, I prefer the lighter ones. That’s just me though, I know a lot of readers prefer the angstier books and I’m sure they’ll love it. For me though, 4 stars.
I received a copy of this book for free but this is my honest opinion.

Let's hear it for a great grumpy/sunshine romance! Cash is a bit of a playboy, but for years he's been crushing on Declan, the older man who owns the town's B&B. Declan gets annoyed every time Cash sleeps with someone staying at his B&B, but it turns out Cash is only sleeping around so he doesn't have to go home. His father is an alcoholic who basically gave up after an injury at work. Cash helps his mom take care of the house as well as his little sister, Katelyn. But, that's a side of Cash that few people see.
When Declan considers selling the B&B after some major water damage, Cash suggests fixing it up first, with his help. Thanks to the increase in quality time together, Cash learns that Declan identifies as gray ace, and he's worried that Cash would be unsatisfied with a relationship with him. Cash isn't going to give up that easily!
🔥: As a gray ace person, Declan does occasionally get intimate, but to him cuddling is just as satisfying. That doesn't mean we don't get some spicier scenes! The anticipation is killer here and these two take advantage of slowly paced scenes with graphic detail and so much love.
😆: With a coffee place called Just the Sip, a grocery called The G-Spot, and Hot Buns Bakery, there is plenty of comic relief in this town. Cash is sure to make you smile, too!
😭: I teared up a bit with this one! These two have some obstacles to overcome and it's not easy. They work for that HEA!
This was such a great finale to the series. DJ Jamison has been teasing us about the tension between this pair during every other book and I've been dying for their story. It didn't disappoint!
CW: alcoholism on the page, emotional abuse from parent on the page
