Overall decent book!
Very low stakes, funny at times, sweet romance. Nothing super over the top, nothing too too cringy (the whole sex drive thing seems a little odd —like the author was trying to appeal to a spicy crowd —) and I did enjoy the mystery as aspect with the messages on the beach. Had some quirky side characters and of course you have your little third act break up (not too dramatic) and then time apart and a HEA.

A burned out woman meets a burned out man at a hotel in an English seaside town in the off season. And everyone was grumpy. While happiness and a good level of spice eventually ensued, it was a trudge getting there. Definitely not my favorite romance novel, however, it did make me want to find a seaside cottage in England for a week with Andrew and claim burnout from my job.

Good book to reflect on if you’re feeling work burn-out and cute slow-burn romance. There’s also a homey beach vacation feel with a small mystery. Solid easy read, helped me with my slump.
