The covers of this series are hugely not my taste but what's between them is great. Fabulous, relatable heroines, and this one had by far my favourite dude opposite her. Fangirl meets hot brother of lead actor in her favourite show: yes.

I loved a lot of things about this interracial romance featuring two POC. I absolutely enjoyed Kiera's brand of unapologetic geekery, it's so rare to see an all-out nerd who isn't afraid to bust out three cosplay options to geek out at a con. She also can't help talking her way through things, especially during a scene and such- I share this trait and was stoked to see it on the page. Both Daniel and Keira are switches, which I'd never read before in kinky books, and that was super interesting to read. I also love the sense of BDSM community and chosen family that was brought into the book.

Two things that did frustrate me: Daniel's super black-and-white approach. Several times in the book I just wanted to reach him and knock some sense into his head, and I wished one of the other characters did that. Although, upon further reflection, I can appreciate the tension it brought to the story, having been caught up in it myself. The other thing, which definitely impacted my overall impression of the book, was the ending. For all of Daniel's hemming and hawing over the life choices he felt he had to make (huge, important decisions for sure), I'm not convinced but how quickly it was resolved in the narrative. I wish this had been more a novel than a novella.

Gulped this one down. I loved the heroine, an unashamed nerd who chatters and makes silly jokes and is pretty happy in her own skin, actually. The hero is also fabulous, he's a lifestyle BDSM person who falls for someone who really isn't, and it's so cute see him ease into a relationship without the trappings. Which is not to say this book contains no kink, it has plenty, but it's more about her trying out her wild side and him focusing on the emotional core of the relationship than on the sexual side, and how they make that work for both. Warm fuzzies.

Also, like book 1, it's laugh out loud funny at points and had me snorting repeatedly. Really enjoyable trilogy, I heartily recommend the lot.
