I'm writing this review retroactively a year after reading, so the details are fuzzy. I remember overall finding this a pretty satisfying conclusion to a series that I absolutely loved – with most of the plot points introduced throughout the other 8 books tied up, and a fitting final note for Lawrence and Temeraire. The battles were great (I always love when the books get into the nitty-gritty of tactics of war), but I do remember wanting more and feeling that the pace felt a bit uneven in places. If I read the books again (as I feel that I probably will someday!) I'll update this review ;)

Little bit of a forced way to wrap up the series but overall very enjoyable

I enjoyed the last book greatly, good pace.

Spoiler I would have liked it better if the Inca Queen was as ruthless as Lawrence thought her and not just making the best of it for Napoleons son, would have seemed a much better twist of events but alas it was not to be

good ending for Lawrence and Temeraire and Temeraires story is not yet done, at least in our imagination, we can see how life unfolds for the British dragons.

Everything came to a close well.

The series was somewhat dragged out but I liked it well enough.
