This was such a fun book to read in one day! This is the story of Cassidy who can see and hear ghosts. Which is rather ironic because her parents are ghost writers who do not know that she can really see them. Her best friend happens to be Jacob, who is a ghost. I absolutely adored the friendship and dynamic between the two of them. This story is about what happens when Cassidy and her family go to Scotland to film a new television show that her parents will be the hosts of . I will be waiting for the next book to come out and I will be picking it up as soon as it does.

A fairly simple middle-grade fantasy that was fast paced and very easy to read. I think the writing was a bit too simplistic, and it made the story seem a bit plain.

This is a spooky store about a girl who is able to walk between the living world and the in between. She has a ghost friend and, on her journey, discovers her purpose. It was a little spooky and I struggled to determine the age range. While an obvious favorite amongst teens and adults, I saw some heavy explanations in the beginning on British terms, etc but these seemed to veer off in favor for borderline gore toward the end. 10+ for sure!

Overall, I think this series may be my new annual October read!

Too many Harry Potter references in a published novel, and too much Americanism’s on Scotland for my liking

Every now and then, I like to read children's books. There are usually quite good and have remarkably strong characters. Cassidy Blake is no exception. Her parents are ghost hunters but what they don't know is that Cassidy can actually see ghosts and has one for a best friend. When her parents get a TV show in Scotland, Cassidy is excited to be in the city of ghosts but Cass will need to learn more about her powers as not all ghosts are friendly.

I loved every page of this and I am glad kids out there have books like to immerse themselves in.

This is the cutest ghost story and I would recommend to any middle grade readers!
