Review for all 3 books in the series - I have only ever read V.E Schwabs work for older audiences and have loved all of them. Even though this is for much younger audiences, I still loved it. A short, enjoyable ghost story that really showcases Schwabs skills by creating an intricate world and pulling the heart strings even within the constraints of simpler and shorter writing.

Another excellent story by Ms. Schwab! Ghosts AND photography? Heck yeah! Awesome characters and spooky setting? Even better! Engrossing story with just enough creepy to cause a round or two of goosebumps, and Iove how Cass is able to see the two sides of the Veil through the lense of her camera.
7/10
fav character: Lara or Jacob
fav quotes:
“Come on, Cass,” she prompts, “just try it. If you hate it, we’ll order pizza.” With my luck, pizza is the British word for octopus.
“Ninth rule of friendship,” he says, “ghost-watching is a two-person sport.”
"Are you sure you don’t want to come?” Mom asks me the next morning. “We’re going to explore the vaults beneath South Bridge. It’s supposed to be positively brimming with paranormal activity.”
Is this how normal parents speak to their children?"

A masterful ghost story for middle-grade audiences. Filled with an eerie and unique take on ghosts.
Great middle grade for spooky season! I really like Cassidy's relationship with her corporeally-challenged best friend and the shenanigans they get up to. Continuing the series right now.
