A truly great read.
Such a fun and fast read, I loveeee the concept, characters and overall feeling of this book.
City of Ghost's is so atmospheric, Even though it takes place in Edinburgh in the summer, reading it now in the cold autumn weather was perfect.
This definitely makes me want to read all of Victoria Schwab's books, middle grade or not. And has me wanting to visit the U.K.

Es un libro súper cortito y muy entretenido. Se nota que es de las primeras obras de V. E. Schwab y que, por tanto, va dirigido a gente más joven. Casi podría considerarse un pequeño cuento de pseudo terror para críos.
Una de las cosas que más me ha gustado es que, esta primera entrega de Cassidy Blake, fuese en Edimburgo ya que hace años que quiero visitar la ciudad. Evidentemente, ha contado aspectos más oscuros y fantasmagóricos de la ciudad, pero igualmente yo lo he disfrutado. Además, algo que me ha parecido muy interesante como punto de partida, es utilizar leyendas locales para dar forma a los espectros y fantasmas contra los que Cassidy tiene que enfrentarse.
Espero poder leer la segunda parte pronto.

Ogólnie spoko książka o duchach dla młodych czytelnikow. Czasami akcja mocno mnie ciekawiła a kiedy indziej rozdziały mnie nudziły. Podoba mi sie sam motyw przewodni czyli duchy oraz ich widzenie przez główną bohaterkę. Zostalo to wszystko wyjaśnione w interesujący sposób. Akcja dość szybko się toczy co bardzo na plus. Nieststy jedno rozwiazanie fabularne dotyczące Wrony mnie rozczarowało swoją oczywistością. Podsumowując była to krótka i spoko lektura.
i rlly enjoyed this!! firstly, putting aside the whole ‘americans in scotland’ aspect of it, “wow they call apartments ‘flats’ and fries ‘chips’!!!”, because it was a lil bit unbearable, but whatever! the actual plot was really cool and i loved the ghosty aspects of it. jacob is my bestest friend ever and no one is ever allowed to say anything bad about him EVER. overall, pretty good book, n im excited to read the next in the series!

I was lucky enough to get an advance copy of City of Ghosts at BookCon 2018. There was so much buzz about this book and I couldn't wait to dive in. I love scary stories, ghosts, and Halloween-like tales so it was right up my alley.
And wow, what an adventure! Don't let that middle-grade tag keep you from reading. I'm an adult and enjoyed this story entirely. It's definitely full of creepy ghosts, many Edinburgh historical references, and dark scary places. But it's not an overwhelming horror story -- it's obviously appropriate for a younger audience, and I don't think adults who dislike horror should stray away. Just the right amount of scare factor in a fun, adventurous story.
Cassidy and Jacob are such a great duo and I hope we will get more of their story in the future.

A fun, fast read! It has unique characters you can’t help but to root for, and a pretty (simple but) solid character plot. Loved the ghost/best friend aspect.
Omg. I LOVED this book. This really has been my cup of tea, with enough of spookiness, ghosts and myths to keep me interested.
Yeah, the main villain was... weaker. I don’t think she will stick to my mind for too long. I liked her, the strange vibe around her. But meh. She just didn’t feel like a real character.
I loved Jacob and Cass, and I can’t wait to read more about their adventures!
